{Jinxx's POV}

     After walking around for about half an hour, the five of us managed to find an abandoned apartment complex on the other side of town. We snuck around to the back door. Andy had gotten tired halfway through the walk, and had fallen asleep. I smiled as I saw him, cradled into Ashley's chest, then frowned as I noticed the darting motion under his closed eyelids. He was probably having a dream...or a vision.

     When I tried the back door, I found it to be locked, but I fixed that with a quick flash of magic. Once everyone was inside, I closed and locked it behind me. I joined the others, who were struggling to see in the dark hallway. My magic illuminated the way, just enough to let us see but not be noticed. "Thanks, Jinxx," CC whispered.

     "No problem. Now, come on. We can probably all fit in one of these apartments, if not split off into two, but we all need some rest," I said. Eventually, we found a good-sized apartment with two bedrooms and an old couch in the living room. Jake and I took one bedroom, Ash and Andy took the second one, and CC agreed on the couch. We made sure the door and windows were locked before saying goodnight to CC and heading off to our separate rooms.

     Jake sighed, sitting on the bed as I walked in. "What's on your mind?" I asked, chuckling under my breath.

     "Just...too many questions. Where we are, why we're here. What's going to happen to us here?" he sighed.

     "Hey, I'm sure everything will be fine. I don't know why or how we're here, or where here is, but we'll figure it out. We'll go back as soon as we're all rested up." I promised.

     "Jinxx, no..." His eyes met mine, but his held a sense of determination. He already had his mind made, and I already knew what he wanted.

     "Jinxx, we have to! You heard what you told Andy earlier, whatever is here is more powerful than Control and the Matriarch combined. We can't let these people be put in danger. We have to help them. It's what we do," he argued.

     "Jake, baby, we have no idea what we're up against. This could be dangerous!" I reminded him.

     "Everyday is dangerous for us, Jinxx! We're the Legion of the Black! We don't back down from danger! Control was dangerous. Korse was dangerous. My mother was dangerous." We both froze, and I looked up to see tears in his eyes. He had never referred to her as that in front of me.

     He sighed, head in his hands before he glued his gaze to the floor. "We didn't give up then, did we? Why are we going to now?!"

     I sighed, shaking my head and taking the seat on the bed beside him. "Yeah...You're right. The others would probably agree, too. We'll stay here, see what's going down," I decided.

     He took his hand in mine, pleased with the decision. "Thank you. Now, come on, let's go to sleep."

     I smiled, lying down and pulling him down with me by the hand. We both laughed as he snuggled into my chest. "I love you, my dear."

     "I love you, too, Jinxxy," he said, before closing his eyes and going to sleep. Soon, I succumbed to the exhaustion, as well.

*time skip a few hours* {Jinxx's POV}

     Looking at an old clock on the wall, I noticed it was 5:30. I groaned, rolling over and attempting to go back to sleep, but soon realized that wasn't going to happen. I was already up, and it was going to stay that way. I climbed out of bed as silently as possible, and went to walk out of the room to find some food. Unfortunately, the door creaked as I opened it.
