{Jinxx's POV}

     My eyes peeled open, but I almost couldn't tell in the pitch-black room, the only light coming from a dim bulb on the ceiling. It was the numbness in my hands that alerted me to cuffs that completely surrounded my hands (Think Elsa), with a blue light blinking on the sides. The stone floor beneath me was rough and jagged, and the room was freezing cold, causing my teeth to chatter.

     "H-Hello?! Is anybody there!" I shouted, but the only sound I heard back was the echo of my own voice bouncing off of the stone walls. Then, I froze, hearing footsteps approach. In the dim light, I could make out the outline of what seemed to be a person, but that was all I could tell.

     "Welcome, Mystic. We've been awaiting your arrival," a sweet, yet vicious voice hissed.

     "Wh-Who are you? What do you w-want with me?" I asked, trying to suppress the shivers running through my body.

     "You're simply just another one that needs to be silenced," The voice spoke in a cold, yet strangely enchanting tone, which brought more chills down my spine. With the sound of receding footsteps, I was once again alone.

     "S-Silenced?" I wondered aloud. I knew what that meant and it wasn't good. I knew I needed the others, so I closed my eyes and focused on Andy.

     'Andy, it's Jinxx. It's really cold, and...help...'

     As my eyes slid closed, my slowing breath puffing out in clouds in front of me, I prayed he heard me.

{Jake's POV}

     The first thing I saw when I burst through the other end of the portal was Ashley, Andy, and CC, staring at me in shock. Putting down the bags in my hands, I turned back to the portal, my eyes widening as it disappeared with no sign of Jinxx. "Jinxx!" I cried, sinking to my knees in front of where, only moments ago, the portal stood. I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder, and turned to Andy.

     "Jake, what in the hell happened?!" he inquired.

     "We were out getting food, and...we thought we were being followed. We went into an alley, and Jinxx made a portal. He told me to go, that he'd be right behind me. Whoever was following us must have him," I shook, tears pouring down my face.

     "OK, Jake, let's relax. Jinxx is going to try and contact me, we all know to do that if there's an emergency. If I hear anything from him, I'll let you know, okay?" Andy said comfortingly.

     "Y-Yeah, thanks, Andy," I said, climbing to my feet, with help from Andy and Ash. "Uh, hey, how are you feeling?"

     "OK, I guess. Still kind of...tired. I'm okay," Andy replied.

     I could feel something was off, but I didn't push it. "Come on, how about we get some food?" I offered instead. He nodded and the two of us headed towards the kitchen, where CC and Ashley had already gotten all of the groceries put away. Miraculously, the power in the apartment still worked. (I just realized they have no money, so we're just going to pretend Jinxx magically conjured the money they needed to buy this stuff. Sorry. You get so focused in the plot you forget the little things.)

     I grabbed a bowl out of the set of bowls and plates we'd grabbed for me and Andy, then poured myself a bowl of Frosted Flakes. The name "Frosted Flakes" sounded familiar, but I just shook it off. Shrugging, I took a bite after pouring in some milk, and smiled, enjoying the taste. Once I finished eating my cereal, I went into my room and curled up under the blanket. The other side of the bed smelled like Jinxx, a thought which led me to tears. I pulled the blanket closer to my chest and cried, burying my sobs in the pillow.

     I didn't hear the door open, but jumped in fright when someone sat on the bed. "Hey, hey, relax. It's just me," Ashley assured.

     "Oh. H-Hey, Ash," I stuttered, mentally cursing myself for the break in my voice.

     "Talk to me," He ordered, in more of a 'brotherly' tone than his 'Deviant' tone.

     "I don't kn-know what to say. Jinxx..." I stopped, feeling more tears forming in my eyes.

     "I understand, I'm the same way with Andy. I get it. He's fine, Jake. I'm certain of it. It's Jinxx. Nobody can beat Jinxx and his magic!" He said, laughing. A small smile formed on my lips, but then the smile disappeared and I shook my head.

     "I shouldn't have left him. I...I should have stayed," I sobbed.

     "Hey, it's not your fault! Listen to me. Relax! Andy's in the living room with CC as we speak, trying to find him. We will find him, and we will bring him home. I promise. Okay?" He asked.

     I closed my eyes, and felt more tears falling down my eyes. "W-What if he's hurt, or...Oh God, why on Earth did I let him go in alone?!" I cried.

     "Hey, come here," He said, pulling me into a hug. I cried on his shoulder while he rubbed my back, shushing me.

     "He's not dead. You would know that better than any one of us. Until you see him in those Halls of yours, Jinxx is not dead. OK? We're going to find him, Jake, and bring him back," he promised.

     I nodded. He was right about one thing, I would know if Jinxx was dead before any one of them knew. I hadn't had any headaches, so I knew he was safe for the moment.

     I let out a yawn as I felt my eyes grow heavy. Ashley chuckled, pulling away from me. "You tired?" he asked.

     I shook my head. "J-Jinxx..."

     "Go to sleep, Jake. If we find him, we'll let you know."

      I tried to stand, but Ashley pushed me back on to the pillow. "Sleep, Jake," He ordered, this time in a different, magical tone. Immediately, my eyes shut, and I drifted off into sleep.
