Disappearing Act

{Andy's POV}

     I had warmed up a little, but still not enough over the past half hour. We'd been driving around the city as I tried to direct CC using the little knowledge of the area or Jinxx's location I had. Honestly, I was kind of hoping for a feeling or something, anything that would point me in Jinxx's direction. I multi-tasked between directing CC and focusing on finding Jinxx again, seeing if anything would come up to tell me how to get to him. I quickly grew frustrated, though. "Just, calm down, and focus, Andy. It's OK, we'll find him," Ashley assured me, but it didn't do much to help. 

     After a while, CC had to pull over for gas. Jake still had some of the money Jinxx had from earlier, so he took forty and went to pay while CC pumped the gas. I sat in the back with Ashley, who was simply running his fingers through my hair, trying to calm me so I could focus. He knew that helped, and it made me smile that he automatically started doing it when I was stressed. "There you go, angel. Just relax," he whispered into my ear. I closed my eyes, but this time, I actually felt something.

     "A-Ash..." I whispered, my eyes squinting shut in concentration. 

     "What? Can you see something?" he asked. 

     "I...I think so." My eyes opened, and I looked out the windshield in shock. A golden path was illuminated, telling me where we should go. "Ash, I know where to go. Tell CC and Jake to hurry up!" I ordered. He quickly shouted through the window to the others. People were giving us strange looks, but we didn't care. 

     "What's going on?" Jake asked, running towards the car from the store. 

     "Andy knows where to go. Come on! We need to move!" he explained. Jake and CC quickly climbed in the car and we pulled out of the lot. I instructed him where to go, and soon, we were pulling up into the parking lot of an empty convenience store. 

     "He's...He's here. Basement," I mumbled, tired as I slipped out of the trance. 

     "Jake and I will go. Ash, stay here with Andy, let him rest up," CC directed. Ash nodded, and let me slip my head on to his shoulder, watching as CC and Jake climbed out of the car and rushed to the store. 

{Jake's POV}

     CC and I approached the door of the run-down building. I pulled it open, and was a little surprised to find it unlocked. I didn't have time to dwell on that, though. "Come on!" I said, running inside, CC right behind me. I found a door in the back which led to the basement. CC and I headed downstairs, pushing open a door that led to a small hallway, filled with other doors. "Jinxx! Jinxx, where are you?" I shouted. 

     "Jake, he may not be able to respond. It's cold down here. If he's been down here for as long as he has, he may be unconscious or something. Come on, let's check these doors. He has to be here somewhere," CC explained. 

     We quickly began pulling open doors and searching rooms. CC pulled one open, and immediately gasped, jumping back. I rushed to his side. "It's freezing in here!" he cried. 

     I rushed inside, gasping at the cold. I looked around, and froze when I saw Jinxx lying in the corner of the room beside the door. His eyes were closed, and by the look of it, he was hardly breathing. His chest rose only slightly, and not often. He wasn't well off at all, and I knew it. I wanted to cry, but I held it back as I rushed to his side. "Jinxx, honey, can you hear me? Come on, say something, please," I pleaded, taking his cold hand in mine. 

     He opened his eyes, only slightly, and looked up at me. "J-Jake. Cold..." he mumbled. 

     "Yeah, it's me. CC's here, too. Come on, we need to get you out of here," I groaned, lifting him into my arms. CC and I rushed out of the room and down the hall. We ran up the stairs and out of the store. "Wait..." CC warned, stopping suddenly half-way to the car. 

     "What's wrong?" I asked. 

     "Look, the car. It's empty," he said, gesturing to the vehicle. 

     I gently set Jinxx on the ground and went to examine the car, looking back up at CC. "Where did Ash and Andy go?" I asked. 

     "I don't know, but I don't like how this feels."

     I got a strange, sudden feeling, like we weren't alone. The next thing I knew, a small, sharp pain hit the side of my neck. I cried out, grasping at the spot. "Jake!" CC cried, running to my side and holding me up as I slowly sank to the ground. 

     "CC...get Jinxx and...go!" I ordered, before I passed out.

{CC's POV}

     I rushed and grabbed Jake as he started to slide down the side of the car and to the ground. "CC...get Jinxx and...go!" he ordered. His eyes slid shut, and his body went limp. I opened the car door and slid him into the back seat before running to grab Jinxx. I stopped, though, noticing he was gone. 

     "What the...?" I started to say, but stopped as something hit my neck. I pulled out a small, silver dart, before my eyes closed and I hit the ground.

So, I know it's been a few days, and my updates have been more frequently, but I wanted to let everyone know, that things might be changing. School for me starts next week on Wednesday, and this year I am in 3 advanced classes (English, Econ, and Bio) where as typically I am only in two. Also, the Saturday the week after school starts (the 16th), my bowling league starts up again, so between school and homework an bowling, I'm going to be pretty busy. Having so much free time to write this summer has been great, and maybe I will still have a good amount of free time, I don't know, but if my updates seem less frequent, at least now you all know why. I will try to keep them pretty frequent, but we'll have to see what happens.

If you like poetry/music, check out my "Lyric Poems" book, where I take the tracklist of an album, and incorporate some of the lyrics from each song into a poem. It's like upcycling in sewing, and it's pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I really enjoy writing them, maybe you guys will enjoy reading them. My most recent one is"American Idiot" by Green Day, and again, if I do say so myself, that one is one of the best I've done. I am very proud of that one, so go check it out! I think you guys will be impressed.
