BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!
My alarm clock happily blared out. Today, the particle accelerator was due to be launched. My hand reached out from under the covers shut my phone up. 7:14am

There really was no point me coming to Central. They were all doing fine without
me. I don't know why I worried in the first place. Not that I was. I was just- Ugh ok fine, I was worried. Just a bit mind.

I dragged myself out of my warm, inviting bed and hopped into a cold 5-minute shower to wake myself up. Yes. I have cold showers. Again no judging.

I decided to blow dry my hair for once and slipped on a pair of black jeans, grey sweatshirt, a green sleeveless jacket with a pair of grey converses.

I popped into a coffee shop called CC Jitters and ordered an Oreo hot cocoa with marshmallows, which is hands down one of the best hot beverages I've ever had.

Any ways, the accelerator event was at 7pm. It was now 7:47am I had an odd 10 hours before I had to go back to my hotel room and get ready, not that I had anything presentable to wear. I decided l would probably have to buy something smart-casual. I hated shopping. But I supposed I could allow this one time.

After I finished my cocoa, I paid the waitress and went out of the cafe in search of any clothes stores. As I was walking down the street, I could hear the mumbling of a guy,

"Excuse me! Coming through! Whoops! Sorry! Sorry!" He said as he continuously collided into people. His voice sounded like- I just about managed to swerve his tall frame as he rushed passed me. Great entrance into the story, Mr. Allen! Clearly, he didn't recognise me. Well, either that or he was going to fast to notice me. I rolled my eyes. People these days. Always in a rush.

The next couple of hours were hell on Earth, and let me assure you,
I've been through true hell on Earth before.

It took me half the day to find something that:
a) I found comfortable
b) wasn't a dress
and z) was me
It was a turquoise-ish blazer jacket, along with a white under top and a pair of sneakers that matched the jacket. It would go with my black jeans just fine.
I wasn't really bothered with fashion and outfits. Clearly.

I decided I'd take Iris up on her offer, just to see her dad, aka Dad Number 2, Joe West. I wanted to see if they were home, but of course I didn't have any way of contacting them. Then it hit me that Joe worked at the CCPD before I left, maybe he still worked there.

So I made my way to the police station. Turned out I hadn't forgotten the way.

It took about half an hour to get there by walking. As I walked into the station, an officer behind the desk called out to me,

"Excuse me, ma'am, are you looking for anyone?" She looked kind enough. I walked up to the desk,

"Yeah. Um.." I wasn't sure what to say. After all, it had been 10 years. Who knows if he was still in the crime department or not,

"I was wondering if Officer Joe West still works here?" She opened her mouth to answer when a voice from behind me interrupted her,

"No he doesn't. But there is a Detective Joe West." I whipped my head around to see a 10 year older, smiling version of Joe.

"Joe!" I exclaimed. My face broke out into a huge grin.

"God, girl!" He said as he pulled me into a huge bear hug, "You've changed so much, yet you haven't changed a bit!" He claimed. I admit I'm not much of a hugger, but I guess I could allow this one time.

I pulled out of his arms, an amused grin visible on my face,

"You do know that doesn't make sense, right?"
