I decided to follow behind him closely.
If my hunch turned out to be right, Barry would need a little babysitting for the day. It wasn't easy for me to do it alone and here's hoping Barry won't have to. I'm too nice.

First stop on the Allen Express: Jitters. Should I be surprised at this point?

I made sure I was invisible looking at my non-existent reflection through the window before following him in. Having to dodge a couple people before they thought they were going out of their minds, I didn't see what happened, but at this point Barry was talking to Iris. I was stood far away for their privacy (even if they didn't know I was there invading it) but my ears could still pick up pieces of their conversation.

"Iris...I'm...I'm ok." He gave a nervous grin.

Iris' grin fell,

"I watched you die, Barry. You kept dying. Your heart kept stopping."

Barry took her hand and put against his chest,

"Still beating."

"Yes, really fast." Iris' brow lowered in confusion before, suddenly, a waitress behind the two holding a tray full of someone's order crashed into a customer, causing the tray and all its contents to fall onto the floor. I looked at Barry analytically, if he was going through what I went through...bingo; he looked shaken up and scared. I'm going out on a limb here and saying that Barry saw this entire event in slow motion, it is actually quite creepy but at the time I didn't have time to think about it.

Everyone in the cafe now turned to find the source of the noise.

"Are you ok, Tracy?" Asked Iris. So that was her name. I didn't want to call her Waitress all the time.

"Yeah. I got it." She replied. Iris turned back to Barry,

"My dad is gonna be so happy to see you. Let me get my stuff, ok? I'll be right back." Barry stood waiting, probably wondering what the hell just happened.

Joe pulled Barry into a bear hug,

"Aww, you scared the hell out of us, kid."

Officer Malone walked past,
"Yep. That was quite the nap you had there, Baby-Face, and you still look twelve." Everyone within hearing distance chuckled and nodded, myself and Barry (awkwardly) included.

"You look ok. Are you really?" Said Joe, now serious.

"Yeah." Was all Barry said, his mind probably literally racing about the incident at the cafe. Another officer came up to us - them.

"Detective West. We've got a 515 in progress at Gold City Bank. Two dead. Storms really picking up on the south side. I'd grab your rain gear." As Joe went to get his essentials, Barry spoke up,

"Do you need my help?"

"No. You take it easy. There'll be plenty for you to do once you settle in. I am wondering where Avery's got to, though. She's taking the longest lunch break. You see her, tell her she's not taking that day off she wanted next week, I have tons of work piled up for her. Let's go partner."

I had to fight the urge to groan loudly at Joe's evil punishment. He even smiled evilly! Joe made his way to the exit, while Eddie came up to Barry and Iris.

"Hey, Allen. Glad to see you."

"Thanks, Eddie." Eddie's gaze softened as he turned to Iris. Right. That. Someone has to tell Barry. Hopefully not be but I got this feeling I'm gonna be there when he finds out.

"Iris."

"Detective Thawne. You should go. My dad doesn't like to be kept waiting." She seemed stiff and cold. Maybe she didn't want Barry to know just yet. Joe's partner of nine months nodded, clapped Barry on the shoulder repeated what he said before and went.
