Emma nuzzled into my neck as I locked the front door. She kissed my skin, tugging at my leather jacket. It pulled against me in hasty fit to remove it. I made a show of pulling it off my arms as slow as I could manage. She stopped kissing my shoulder, looking back up at me and drawing out a groan, "Come on, Killian!" She giggled.

I raised a playful eyebrow, finally gripping my jacket in my hands, throwing it to the floor, "Need a coat rack there," I said, pointing to my jacket.

I turned back to her, throwing off her own red leather. It looks good on her. A nice color. She used to wear jackets all the time, before Neal's career started to take off and he had her dress up nicer. She wore dresses that flattered her figure, and she even told me she enjoyed dressing up every so often. Then, Emma began having black and blue arms, so she had to wear outfits she no longer enjoyed, instead using clothing that covered the abuse. That hid her.

My eyes drooped slightly, and I caressed the side of her cheek. She leaned into the touch, only to push me against the wall. Emma curled her lips and they fell against mine, fitting just perfectly. Her touch hot and needy. I chuckled, my back pressed against the walls of our entrance. It opened right into the living room to the right, kitchen to the left. Stairs led up to the two bedrooms, and there's a half-bath off of the living room. The full bath is between our bedroom and the nursery.

I fell back into reality, Emma running her hands along my chest and kissing my jawline. I hummed happily, lifting my hands to hold onto either side of her waist. My fingers played with the hem of her shirt, tugging it up slightly.

She traced her lips back to my neck, biting into my skin lightly, "Don't leave marks, Swan. I've got a gig tomorrow," I forced myself to say, as much as I didn't want to. She whined, meeting my eyes with a slight pout. I chuckled, running my hand through her hair, "Love, we don't even have a bed yet."

"Not like we haven't done it on the floor before," she smirked back at me. Our legs rubbed together, feet shuffling.

I kissed her lips, matching her neediness. I could feel the heat of us combined. Emma stepped into the small space that separated us.

The doorbell went off.

I groaned, letting go of Emma's shirt as it fell in a crinkle. She frowned, dropping her hands and opening the door.

Ruby came bursting in, "Sorry about interrupting your hot sex!" She giggled, "Killian, give me a hand, will you?" She pulled me by the hand, onto the porch. Ruby slammed the door, leaving Emma inside.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" She whispered, looking up at me, anger seeming to radiate off her.

I tilted my head. Dammit, what did I do to upset Ruby now, "What are you bloody saying, Ruby?" I crossed my arms against my chest.

She grabbed them back, plopping them against my sides, "You have a dead wife!"

"Ex-wife," I corrected her instantly.

Ruby rolled her eyes, taking my arms and shaking them, "See what I mean? There's no way you're in the right state of mind to be engaged!" She shuffled, dropping my hands and instead placing her own on her hips. Her eyes looked at me, narrowing them in my direction. I shuddered under her look, knowing it all too well. Ruby and I aren't friends. We've got mutual friends. We always seem to disagree, and she's too wild for my taste. I don't know her, and she doesn't know me. I'd like to keep it that way.

"Why do you care, anyways?" I tilted my head, raising my eyebrows in question. Why the fuck does Ruby get to decide my life?

She huffed, "I'm worried for Emma's sake, Killian. She just left a horrible relationship, and can't deal with you and your personal problems. Remember how fragile she was just a few months before? Do you know how hard it is for her to comfort you? She needs a stable person to help her rebuild herself. Or maybe, Emma just needs some time alone to find herself," Ruby suggested, "Then, you could create a great relationship with you damn daughter!"

"You're a bitch, Ruby," I pointed my finger at her, the anger beginning to build in me. I flung open the door before anything worse happened. I headed back in and locked it behind me.

Emma frowned, looking back at me, "A bitch? Harsh. What'd she say?" Emma rubbed my arms, raising on her toes to kiss my cheek.

"Am I too unstable for you, Emma?" I wrapped my arms around her waist, and her kisses came to a halt.

"I don't think I understand," Her greens eyes bubbled in confusion, piercing mine in return, "You're just going through a hard time, right now. We all go through that."

Damn you, Ruby. You were right.

I gripped onto Emma even harder, not ever wanting her to leave my grasp, "Swan, you're finally getting stronger. I'm just falling apart."

Her mouth was close to my ear. Emma's breath fell upon my ear in a rhythmic pattern, "You're the best thing to ever happen to me. I promised to not leave you. I expect you to do the same," she kissed the tip of my, running it between her front teeth carefully, releasing with a small pop.

She fell against my chest and ran her fingers along my shirt, "I'm sorry, Emma. I'm just doubting myself," I admitted, holding her as close as I could.

Emma snuggled in closer before breaking away, "I say, we go catch a movie, then come back and make a pallet on the floor. I'm tired and don't feel like putting together that damned bed."

"Sounds like a plan," I smiled, looping my arm around her back, "I've gotta apologize to Ruby, as well."

"That sounds like a tomorrow problem."

I know, short chapter. After coming back from vacation Saturday I had to jump into volunteering, and I'll be doing that for the rest of this week. Trying to get up my volunteer hours before school's back. Speaking of, I've got school starting back in three weeks and have got into AP classes. Wooh! Going to be a lot of work, though. So, my upload times may vary.

Thanks for reading! -Rose
