Leah’s POV

We went through the front door and my breath caught in my throat.  It was amazing.  We were met by Jeremy’s parents, “You guys can go up to the main stairs, four doors down.”

We left all the bags in the car except the dress and the tux.  Tonight we will announce our move, as of right now no one knows.  I was holding my dress back and he was holding his tux.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me up to the fourth door at the top of the staircase.  We put the two bags down on the bed.

“Everything is going to be fine.  If you need to, give your wolf control when you are being introduced.”  I nodded my head, “Looks like it is time to get dressed.”  I picked up my dress and went to a door I noticed when we walked in.

Opening the door, I was releaved to see that it opened up to a bathroom.  I shut the door behind me and hung my dress on the back of the door.  Taking off my clothes and slipping into the dress, I looked in the mirror.  I smiled and smoothed the dress out with my hands.

Then there was a knock on the door, “Leah, you almost ready?”

I looked in the mirror one last time and froze.  I opened the door and my eyes widened as I took in my mate, wearing a matching deep red shirt underneath his tux and a black tie.

“I’m going to take that as approval of the outfit.”  He laughed, hugging me.  “You look gorgeous.”  He said.

“I-I um.. don’t have any makeup.”  He instantly let go of me, looking me in the eyes.

“You don’t need makeup.  Trust me, you look amazing.  Oh- while we were shopping I grabbed you a pair of black Stilettoes.  I figured black matches everything.”  He looked as awkward as any guy talking about heels would.

“Thank you.”  He walked next to the bed and picked up a shoe box , handing it to me.  I walked over to the bed and opened the shoebox, putting the empty box on the bed as I took out the shoes.  I slipped the shoes on and they fit perfectly.

“Do you like them?”  He asked me, anxiously.

“They’re perfect.”  I grabbed his hand, then I remembered why I was getting dressed up.  “Oh gosh!”  I said as I put my face in my hands and sat on the bed.  I could feel the small amount of eagerness that was coming from Jeremy, through our bond.

“Everything will be fine.”  He said, trying to sooth my nerves.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet.  Without a work he led me out of the room and down the stairs.  When we got down the stairs his mom, Nicole, gasped and her eyes started watering.  “You guys look so cute!”  She cooed.

I buried my head into Jeremy’s side and he laughed, throwing his arm around my shoulder.

“She is scared; she doesn’t do well in front of people.”  Jeremy said, talking to his parents.

“It’s not that bad.  You get used to it, Honey.”  Nicole said with a reassuring smile.

“Here we go.”  Bill, Jeremy’s dad and the Alpha, said as he opened the front door and walked out with his mate in hand.  Jeremy and I followed and the butterflies in my stomach spiked to an all time high.

“Calm down.”  Jeremy bent down and whispered in my ear.

There was a platform that was raised, so everyone on it could be visible to all the pack members.  I squeezed Jeremy’s hand tighter as we took each step.  By the time we reached the top Jeremy’s hand was purple and he was laughing.  Then, Bill started talking, “We have called this meeting and cookout to celebrate.  As everyone knows my son, your future Alpha, has been looking for his mate.”  All the male wolves started cheering and wooting, how mature.

“Well…”  He continued, “Now, I would like to have him come forward.”

Jeremy pulled me behind him, because neither of us thought I was letting go.

“Today, I would like to introduce you to my mate, Leah!”  At that everyone was cheering, happily.  “She is a little new to all this, so we will be around during the cookout, but I am asking you to please try to keep from over whelming her.  Thank you.”  His voice was loud and full of authority, traveling throughout the audience.

With that, everyone returned to their earlier activities.  Jeremy turned to me, “Can you stop suffocating my hand.  See it wasn’t that bad!”  When I let go of his hand he put his arms around my waist, holding me against his chest.

This calmed my nerves and made me and my wolf relax.  “I love you, Leah.”

I put my hands around his neck and hugged him, “I love you, Jeremy.”  I brought my lips to his.  Then, someone cleared their throat from behind me.

We broke apart, while I turned around, Jeremy pulled my body to his protectively as I came face to face with my parents.

Jeremy didn’t know about the constant fighting, but he knew there were some family issues.  He also knew that they left me.  “Congrats.”  My dad said like nothing ever happened.  He extended his hand to Jeremy.

Jeremy growled.  “Can we talk?”  My mom asked, motioning toward the house, as my dad returned his arm to his side.

I nodded my head and Jeremy followed me as I went inside.

When we got into the living room I turned to Jeremy, “I need to do this alone.”  He started to protest and I held my hand up in response, “Please” He nodded his head and went to the kitchen.

I went and sat on the couch opposite my parents and it felt like the day they left.  “We are sorry for what has been happening-“ My mom started.

“You’re sorry?!”  I stood up, “No, you’re not feeling like you did something wrong!  And you did!  But,”  I pointed at them both, “the one thing you aren’t, is sorry.!”  I went into the kitchen already pissed off and it only got worse, “I trusted you!”

Jeremy’s POV

Leah told me she wanted to talk to her parents alone.  I didn’t like the idea, but I could see where she was coming from.

I went in the kitchen and was bombarded by the one person in this world I didn’t want to see, “Jeremy, why wasn’t I good enough?”  Lexi asked, tears springing to her eyes.

“Lexi” I sighed, “you’re NOT my mate!”

“Yes I am!”  She walked over to me and wrapped herself around me, putting me against a wall.  Then, she kissed me.  I tried to push her off but she had me in a position where I couldn’t move enough.

My wolf was beyond pissed.

Then we heard her, “I trusted you!”

That was all it took, my wolf took over.  He easily moved Lexi and pushed her off of us.  By the time we were out of Lexi’s hold, Leah was gone.  All my wolf could feel was her pain mixed with his own.  “Fucking touch me again and see how long you will be alive!  Talk to me again and see how long you will be in this pack!”

I ran from the house, but couldn’t find her, so I used the pack mind link.  ‘Leah is missing, find her and bring her back!’

The pack dispersed from their fun and went searching.  What if this time I really pushed her away?
