"I'm going to join that guild one day for sure!"
Bright brown eyes filled with hope for the happiness she knew she would reach one day.
A light lies within them. A light that reaches down to her very core, so you knew it was genuine.
A girl with hopes and dreams.
A girl who thought that only happiness would await her outside of her childhood home.
A frown appears on my face, as I stare at the first pages of my unfinished story, reminding me of that girl.
I wish to be that girl again. To believe everything will work out.
But, I'm not naive. I've seen what happens to those with hope.
My eyes look to an empty picture frame, one that used to hold a picture of Natsu and Happy.
My reflection becomes visible in the glass, and I stare at my dull brown eyes.
That terrible day, almost a year ago, I told myself that I'd be alone forever. I didn't deserve another shot at happiness, not after being given Fairy Tail.
I made a promise to be alone for the rest of my life...if you can even call what I was doing living that is.
Didn't I break that promise, though? By coming back here.
I'm a fool.
No. You can't lose something twice if you never got it back.
I still don't have these people as my family.
I still don't have myself.
Lucy of Fairy Tail...she is forgotten.
Those once sparkling eyes filled with hope, are forever gone and forgotten, except from my memory, and my memory alone.
This is me now...these dull brown eyes are me.
