Twenty Two: When We Make Love

(Jason) These past few weeks have been great. I've been spending a lot of time with Lisa, Jeff, and the family. When my Grandma got back from her trip I told her that I've been spending time with Jeff and Lisa. She told me that she wants to meet them. I told her that they invited me over for Thanksgiving dinner next week. That would be the perfect time for everybody to get to know each other. I even invited my brother Josh and Tyler and they happily accepted my invitation.

Since its the weekend I'm gonna spend some time with my friends. Me, Cameron, and Rocky are gonna chill today. I know I've been MIA due to me spending time with my folks. They said they understood. I asked them would it be okay if brought Ty along and they said it'd be okay. I told em I'd ride with Ty and I'd meet them at beach. We're not going swimming or anything. Its cold as fuck. I wouldn't dare (LOL).

When I got downstairs my Grandma was down there talking on the phone to one of her friends. She stopped me before I even steeped out the door.

"Where you on your way to baby boy?", she asked me

" Me and Tyler  finna go hang out with Cameron and Rocky at the beach.", I told her

"I know you ain't finna get in that cold ass water. When yo ass get sick don't expect me to doctor on you."

"We're not going swimming or anything like that. We just gonna go chill. I've been an absent friend as of late and I thought today would be a good day to spend some time with my boys."

Tyler sent me a text message saying he was outside.

"Well Tyler's outside Grams. I'll chop it up with you later."

"Hold on for one second...I wanna meet this Tyler character. You talk about him so much."

Damn I haven't even told grams that me and Tyler are a couple yet. I'm gonna have to tell her now before she starts putting shit together.

"Grams before we go outside there's SOMETHING I've got to tell you."

"Go ahead I'm all ears."

"You know me and Tyler have been hanging out a lot lately right?"

"Of course", she said

" Well there's a reason for that. You see he's kind of my boyfriend. It didn't start like that. We were friends at first, but the more I was around him the more my feelings started to grow for him. He's an incredible person."

She paused for a second. I hope and pray that she doesn't say anything crazy or harsh. I'm so not in the mood for one of her lectures today.

"Son I kinda figured that. I'm not at all surprised."

"You did? What gave it away?"

"Son I'm old but I'm no fool. Your face lights up at the mention of his name. I'm in no position to judge. As long as you're happy, I'm happy. Now let's go outside. I've gotta meet this boy you so in love with."

I opened the front door and Grams went out first and I closed the door behind me. We walked to his car and I got in the front seat. Grams went to the drivers side and looked at Tyler.

"You must be the famous Tyler that my grandson has been raving about."

"I guess I am...how are you doing Mrs. Brooks?"

"I'm great. I was just telling Jason that its time for me to meet this Tyler he speaks so highly of. "

"He speaks  highly of me? Who would have known."

"Baby he talks about you night and day. I will say this...he has great taste. You are one handsome fellow. Your parents must be proud."

"Yes ma'am. My dad is the ADA. He's always so busy but when he has time off we spend time together. I'm always doing something with my mom. She volunteers at the public library part time and she works at nursing home part time as well and I go to work with her sometimes and help her out."
