Chapter 27-
"You sure you don't need help getting ready?"
"I'll be fine Amanda. I'll FaceTime you tonight and tell you all about it okay?"
"Fine. You better. Have fun!"
Flashing me a smile, she started up the car again to drive home after dropping me off at home once school ended. Connor texted me saying he was going to pick me up at 8. That meant that I had 4 hours to get ready and sit around until it was time.
Connor and I have been in such a playful flirty mood and I've come to realize that Amanda was right when she pointed that out last week but I denied it.It just felt so weird to think of myself that way since I was just overall so awkward sometimes.
Pulling out my keys to the house, I unlocked the door getting in knowing that Aaron probably wasn't home yet. On Friday's after class he'd sometimes go over to Jake's to catch up with him for a bit before coming home. The bromance, I tell you.
I climbed the stairs going into my room and tossed my backpack onto the bed. I pulled out my textbooks and homework figuring I should at least attempt to distract myself and do it now rather than later. I had time to spare anyways.
After about 2 hours of getting most of the work I had done, I felt the need for a break. Pushing it aside, I climbed off my bed going downstairs right as the door opened Aaron walking in. He was swinging his keys in his hand, whistling before he stopped seeing me coming down."When is your date again?"
"In 2 hours."
"Oh, okay."
"Did you go to Jake's?"
"Yeah for a bit. And then I met up with Tessa."
"Tessa?"
"The girl I told you about."
"Ohhhhh her."
He nodded going towards the kitchen immediately opening up the fridge. I followed him into the kitchen pulling out one of the stools and sat down facing him while we talked.
"What'd you guys do?"
"Went for ice cream."
"And you didn't bother to bring me any?!"
I gasped pretending to be hurt but he looked over his shoulder at me amused.
"Bring me food from your date tonight and we'll see."
"No thanks."
"Call me if you need anything tonight alright?"
"What, like a drink refill?"
I grinned at him trying to be funny but he didn't laugh at that one, a more serious look on his face.
"I'm serious Kate. You never know what'll happen."
"I'll be fine Aaron....but I'll call you if I need to."
We looked at each other for a bit in silence before Aaron snapped his fingers like he remembered something.
"Aren't you going to get ready?"
