Chapter 13-
"Katelyn honey, I didn't know you were seeing someone..."
Unfortunately right when it was almost time for the four of us to hightail it out of here, I stopped dead in my tracks when we walked right into my parents.
Clearing my throat since it was still a little awkward from the last time we were together for dinner at that restaurant, I responded to my mom."Uh, I'm not. This is Connor. Jake uh couldn't make it this time."
Introducing him, he looked pretty calm as he stuck out his hand shaking both of my parents hands.
"Are you all leaving already?"
My dad looked around from all of us and came to a stop at me. Before I could think of a response, Amanda cut right to it thankfully.
"It's getting a little late and we were on our way to go get some dinner before we head home. The party was lovely as always Ms. Summers."
My best friend smiled as she gushed about the party to my mom since she was the one that was usually in charge of arranging and planning the parties.
I watched my mom smile nodding her head before kissing me on the cheek and letting us leave."Such a suck up to her."
Aaron joked around laughing before Amanda smacked him.
"I was just joking! Sheesh woman."
Still chuckling, I shook my head grinning at the two as we all finally headed out the door.
As we all piled into Aaron's car, my phone buzzed with a text as I ignored it after a quick glance.
A couple seconds later, it buzzed a couple more times and I rolled my eyes still not responding."Who are you ignoring this time?"
Glancing up, I could see Aaron looking at me from the front seat on the rearview mirror.
"Yeah, who's texting you? All of your friends are in this car so..."
Glaring at that one which came from Amanda jokingly, I narrowed my eyes at her while everyone in the car laughed.
"You're so mean to me."
"I'm just kidding. Love ya girl."
"For real though, who is it?"
"The snake."
"Heather? Why is she texting you?"
"Yes, and she's being annoying."
As Aaron came to a red light, he turned giving me a confused look.
"How does she even have your number?"
"I dunno, why don't you ask your best friend hmmmm?"
Giving my brother a pointed look, he shrugged turning his attention back to the light that was now green.
"What does she even want?"
"Umm..."
Pressing the home button on my phone, the screen lit up in the car which was now pretty dark since it was night out. I scrolled through looking at them laughing to myself.
