Chapter 2-
"Get your lazy butt out of bed girl."
Groaning into my pillow, I could feel Amanda pulling on my arm to get me out of bed. I totally forgot that I agreed to go to the mall with her today.
"10 more minutes."
I could feel my eyes closing before my arm was almost yanked out of its socket as she pulled me up out of bed. Man that girl was strong.
"Okay okay okay just give me half an hour to get ready."
"5 minutes."
"15." I counteracted with another 10 minutes before she finally gave in.
"Ugh fine. Just hurry your butt up so we can go hit the stores."
Flashing her a thumbs up, she left my room closing the door behind her to go wait for me downstairs.
It was Sunday and as much as I hated leaving the comfort of my bed on a Sunday morning, I needed a little change. I needed more clothes to add to my closet full of nothing to wear anyways. After pulling on a pair of denim shorts and a plain white t-shirt, I quickly pulled my hair into a ponytail.
Applying a quick fix of makeup, I grabbed my wallet, house keys, phone, and slipped on my white converse."Times up!"
Amanda yelled from downstairs rushing me.
"Coming!"
Racing down the stairs, the two of us made our way out to her car and into the hot California air.
School had just started only a month ago in August and it was still like summer outside.
With the radio on and the windows pulled down, the blurry scenery passed by us as Amanda drove us to the mall.~~~
"Hey, do you think this looks cute?"
Amanda twirled around checking out herself in the full length mirror of the changing room. So far, she had bought 5 things already and I had nothing besides the iced coffee I was holding.
We'd been at the mall for about two hours now and I wasn't bored, but I just hadn't found anything I liked."You looked cute in the last 5 outfits."
"You're no help."
Laughing, she looked at me rolling her eyes with a smile before heading back into the dressing room.
Pulling out my phone, I turned it on, a picture of Amanda and I flashing back at me from my lock screen.
I clicked around looking at all the photos people posted from my school of the fun things they did over the weekend. When Amanda finally came out of the dressing room with only one of the things she tried on, I grinned relieved that she was finally done. In a rush, I grabbed my stuff and dragged her over to the checkout line.
"Sheesh, I didn't know you wanted to leave this badly Katelyn."
Laughing, she shook her head as the two of us stood in line waiting.
"Sorry, I'm just really hungry actually."
"You're always hungry. That's not an excuse for everything."
Pretending to be a offended, I gasped.
"Says the one that eats more than I do."
Teasing her, she pushed me to the side laughing. She was the only one laughing though as I tripped backwards (being the major klutz I am). Scared I was gonna fall into something, Amanda reached out to grab me, before another pair of arms caught me from falling.
A pair of muscly arms?
Feeling myself being lifted back up, I turned to see a confused guy staring back at me. He looked about our age but I didn't know who he was.
"Um..uh- sorry, thanks." All of a sudden flustered for some reason, the amused look grew on his face as that was the last thing I saw before I turned realizing that Amanda was done paying.
"Uh...bye!" Awkwardly waving goodbye to the stranger that caught me, I rushed with my best friend out of the store.
"Oh god, that was embarrassing."
