*Camila's POV*
Normani, Dinah, Ally, and I all sat on the cold metal bleachers that were on the side of the softball field. The weather was perfect, it was hot but with a cool breeze that didn't let you overheat. We sat there waiting patiently for the scrimmage to start. Softball was one of the prides of this school and even though this scrimmage meant nothing except practice for them, the bleachers were filled with high school students. I know I've been to many of Lauren's games throughout the years, but to be honest, this game had me really excited.
Maybe it was because she was captain and I was excited to see her lead her team to a victory or because she was my girlfriend and everything she did made me excited and overly happy. I know it was a scrimmage and all and even though it counted for nothing except some good practice, I still found it exciting no matter what. "ALRIGHT GIRLS LETS DO THIS," I heard Lauren's husky voice yell before all the girls separated onto the field. I watched as she ran out onto the field, taking her position in right field.
God, softball players have nice asses especially in those pants, I thought to myself causing a light blush to creep across my face. I squinted lightly when I saw the pitcher. My jaw dropped when I realized it was Addison, her blonde hair and her tallness was unmistakeable. "Since when does Addison play softball?" I asked, nudging Normani in the side.
"I don't know, maybe she played in her old school. I saw her and Lauren talking in homeroom this morning." She replied with a shrug
"What were they talking about?" I asked with some insecurity in my voice. I though she hates Addison why would she be talking to her.
"I don't know. But don't question it, you should be happy that they settled their differences. It's bad enough she wants to hit Victoria every time she sees her, we don't need her feeling the same way about Addison too.""True." I quickly focused my mind back on the scrimmage. The first player on the opposing team stood next to the home plate, twirling the baseball bat in her hands. The first pitch was a pop up to Lauren, she easily caught it with a smile on her face as she threw it back to the cut off man. The game went by quick, the girls winning the scrimmage 4-1.
The girls and I quickly hopped off the bleachers to go greet Lauren once she came off the field. She had a grin plastered on her face, her training shirt was all dirty and sweaty, and her pants were all askew, but she was happy and that made me happy. "Babeeeeee," she said loudly about to pull me into a hug but I put my hand out."No no, you're sweaty." I said but she just winked, pulling me into a tight hug.
"I guess you'll just have to join me in the shower now." She whispered into my ear, making my knees wobble and a pool of heat form between my legs. Out of embarrassment, I buried my head into her shoulder, my cheeks redder than fire.
"Stop being inappropriate." I mumbled into her shirt
"AY JAUREGUI, COME HERE A MINUTE!" A voice yelled as me and Lauren pulled apart. I looked over her shoulder to see Addison waving her over. With a sigh I gave her a quick kiss before pushing her lightly. I watched as she jogged over to the blonde girl, engaging in a conversation right away. I watched their interaction closely, it wasn't that I didn't trust Lauren, because I do, I don't trust Addison.
My stomach twisted in knots as Addison put her hand on Lauren's shoulder, giving it a light rub before bumping her lightly on the hip and walking away. I mumbled a quick 'I'm going to the bathroom' to the girls before Lauren walked over, racing off. I was mad, but why? Did I have anything to be jealous of? Of course not Lauren loves me, right?
I stopped right outside of the bathroom, leaning against the concrete wall and letting out a deep sigh. I ran a hand through my hair and leaned my head against the wall, shutting my eyes as a light breeze blew across my face. What was with me today? Addison wasn't a threat, I know that deep down, but in ways she could eventually become one.
Lauren could always become bored with me and go to her or hell, even back to Luis again. I mean those two had been inseparable when they were dating, we all thought they were gonna get married. I wonder if he was ever insecure about losing her or anything. I wonder if he had ever been jealous of me and Lauren's friendship, she was quite touchy feely but that was the person she was.
"Looky looky, it's Camila Cabello." The unmistakeable voice of Victoria barked out
I opened my eyes hesitantly to see the queen bitch and her posse right in front of me. "God Victoria, what do you want from me today?""Nothing much, just felt like having some fun." She said, twirling her chocolate brown hair between her fingers and popping the gum that was in her mouth.
"Go find somewhere fun somewhere else."
"But, you're the funnest person to mess with."
"Shut up and just leave me alone."
"Well that's the thing," she said with a wicked grin on her face, leaning in so we were face to face, "your girlfriend isn't here to protect you, so I can do whatever I'd like."
"Look, I know you think I'm a weak person and whatnot, but I really don't want to deal with your shit so if you'd excuse me, I'm leaving." I said brushing past her, just to be pulled back, stumbling and falling over.
"You're going nowhere, this is just the beginning."
