" daddy i miss mommy " Aaliyah whined for what seemed to be the 100th time today. I zoned her out as I continued driving to my mother's house. I got a few houses to view today and i'm planning to put a down payment down today. Renae always trynna bring me down and say i ain't shit , but i'm always the one fixing shit and supporting her and aaliyah. Yea , I be fucking up sometimes but shit, i always keep them straight. And she STILL don't support a nigga no matter what I do.

" daddy can we go see mommy "

" we gonna see mommy tomorrow. okay baby girl ? " i responded as i pulled into the dairy queen's parking lot.

" .. okay . " she said with a frown as she looked out the window with her doll in her hand.

" Leah " i said while glancing at her through my rear view mirror

" hm? "

" you know daddy loves you right " i said to her as i unbuckled my seat belt and turned around towards her after parking . " i love you so much Aaliyah. you're my favorite person in the whole wide world "

" the whole wide world daddy ? " she exclaimed as her eyes widened and the biggest smile grew on her face.

" the whole wide world baby girl " i assured her in a chuckle. " can't nobody take me from you. no matter what. i'm not ever going to let anything happen to you. i'll do anything for you. okay?"

" okay daddy " she smiled as she unstrapped herself out of her car seat.

" come here " i said to her after we both exited the car. " don't ever take this off , it's a picture of me, you, and mommy on the inside " i said to her while opening the locket  and showing her and clamping the necklace around her neck.

" it's so pretty daddy " she exclaimed  " i love it so much. "

" i know , i have the same picture inside my ring " i showed her after opening the top piece of my ring. " now let's go get some ice cream baby girl " i chuckled while i picked her up and put her over my shoulder as she giggled.

" lemme get two pints of chocolate fudge ice cream with sprinkles " i ordered , making Aaliyah gasp as she tugged on my arm

" how'd you know i want that daddy ? " aaliyah asked with excitement

" because we've always liked the same ice cream leah. i use to let you eat it when you were teething, and mommy use to get mad" i laughed before paying for the ice cream and walking over to our booth.

" i remember when delly brought me and mommy here " Aaliyah stated before scooping up some ice cream.

" whose delly? Odell?" i questioned

" yes. mommy's special friend" she smiled " he's amaaazing daddy. he bought me a new doll house and a unicorn. didn't you see it daddy? it was so pretty and pink . i loved it , then you came but we had to go."
