"Lust and Love are often confused"

The next day...

I woke up to the sound of Aaliyah's loud voice and O'Dell's laughter from downstairs. I groaned before lazily throwing my legs over the edge of the bed. I went to brush my teeth and wash my face before going downstairs.

" y'all are so loud, i can hear y'all in my sleep, its amazing " I complained

" hey mommy " aaliyah smiled as she ran over to me and hugged my leg.

" it's 2 in the afternoon, you shouldn't be sleep anyways with your lazy self. who wore you out" Odell asked

" Aaliyah's snoring kept me up " I rolled my eyes at him cause I knew he was trying to be funny

" I wonder who she gets that from " he chuckled. "If you hungry, I ordered pizza" he said as he pointed to the kitchen table

" Odell you can't always eat fast food. You need to start eating real food "

" I can't cook " he shrugged

" I'll start cooking, we just gotta go grocery shopping because all you have in here is stuff for your nasty smoothies "

" yeah yeah yeah " he zoned me out

" whatever " I rolled my eyes " come on aaliyah, Lets go wash up" I said before picking her up and carrying her up the stairs.

" mommy is delly going to be my new daddy " she asked as I washed her hair

" no baby, you're going to always have the same daddy. Nobody can ever replace your daddy" I explained. This is the reason why I didnt want us to be seperated like this, confusion. I never wanted Aaliyah to go through this with me and antonio, especially at this age.

" did you replace daddy with odell mommy"

" no baby, odell is mommys special friend. "

" then when are we going back to daddy"

" baby its certain things you won't understand yet until you get older. Just know that mommy loves daddy. We just can't be together right now , okay ? "

" okay mommy. " she said before I turned the shower off and wrapped her in her towel before I dressed her.

" what's this on your neck " I asked her, referring to the locket

" daddy gave it to me, it's a picture of us inside it " she smiled as she opened it. It was the same picture he had imprinted on my steering wheel. I felt my heart in my throat.

" I love you aaliyah " I squeezed her into a hug before kissing her cheek.

" I love you too mommy" she smiled, showing all her teeth.
