Happiness comes in mysterious ways

the next morning...

" Renae " I heard Antonio said while knocking on my bedroom door

" come in " I said in my raspy morning voice

" Oh , I was just making sure Aaliyah was in here " he clarified before laughing " why her leg on your neck "

" That's what good sleep looks like " I giggled before yawning

" Damn that morning breath something serious "  Ant said before making a stank face

" go brush your teeth so I can come put my tongue down your throat " he said with a smirk while leaning on the wall with his shoulder

" don't be talking like that around my baby " I said while throwing a pillow at him sitting up

" she gotta know how she got her one day " he said with a grin

" good bye Antonio " I said in a yawn before rubbing my hands through my hair and standing up and stretching.

" I'm finna go to work at the shop downtown, ill be home by 8 tonight. but Aaliyah's party decorators might call you around 5:30 to  come down there and unlock the venue. here's the key " he said while handing me the key out of his pocket . I took it and nodded before putting it on the dresser .

" I gotta start cooking for tomorrow. and go get her cake and outfit " I stated

" just put the food on low when they call. and drive down there real quick to unlock it for them and come back. its only a 10 minute drive Nae"

" alright ant." I said before shooing him out the room and closing the door.

I got a busy day ahead of me and I need to start getting everything together ASAP. tomorrows Aaliyah's birthday and I want her to have the time of her life. I got until 2 o'clock tomorrow evening to pick up her cake, but I just need to start getting all the food cooked for all them bad ass kids and they parents and my family.

" Mommy " Aaliyah said while waking up

" yes baby " I answered from the bathroom

" I pottied in the bed. " she said in tears while she yawned

" god Aaliyah, why didn't you get up when you felt like you had to pee" I said in irritation while coming from out of the bathroom .

" I sorry mommy, I didn't mean to. don't be mad at me . ill clean it up " she said while wiping some of her tears and tugging on the sheets so they could come off

" its alright Aaliyah " I sighed " just take your clothes off in the bathroom so I can wash you up"

I changed the sheets and we both washed up before doing the rest of our hygiene and starting our day.  I set Aaliyah up in the living room with cartoons on and her dolls so she could be entertained while I get the food prepared. I started with the baked macaroni and cheese, I needed two pans of it and this was gonna take a while to get all the cheese cut up.

things were going by smoothly , I got most of the food in the oven and in the pots but I still had one more pan of macaroni to put in the oven after I took the other pan out. I let Aaliyah taste test everything so it was to her liking. i sat down for a few minutes until my phone started to ring.
