My neighbor Sheri told me that I should go to this party her friend was throwing. It was like a 'Back to School' party. Since I was going to be new to Liberty High, she thought this was the best idea with helping me make friends. When we arrived, there was already a ton of people there. I didn't know anyone and basically clung to Sheri's side.

"Come on, (Y/N)! You need to go talk to people. Like him. Hey, Jeff!" Sheri said as she pointed towards this male with brown hair. He smiled at her as he walked over to us with a drink in his hand.

"Hey, Sheri. How's it going? Who's your friend?" Jeff said. I slowly held my hand out and smiled at Jeff.

"Hi, I'm (Y/N). I just moved to town and Sheri thought this was the best way to make friends before school started. Right, Sheri?" I said as I turned to my side. And she's gone. Great. Leaving me here with a complete stranger.

"How about I get you a drink! You a beer person or a mixed drink person?" Jeff said as the two of us walked into the kitchen.

"I prefer mixed drinks. Thanks a lot, Jeff." I smiled at the boy as he started to pour things into a red solo cup and soon handed it to me. I sipped it and smiled.

"I call it the Vodka Sunset. Hope you like it. Anyways, where did you live?" Jeff said as we soon went to the backyard. It was less crowded than in the house.

"I moved from Montana. Dad's work moved us out here. Sheri and I are neighbors and instantly bonded. So, she said I should come to this party to make some friends. So, here I am." I said as I took a sip of my drink. Jeff chuckled and turned towards the beer pong game by us.

"Let's go play." Jeff said as we walked over. Jeff introduced us to a few of his friends who said they'd all show me around school and help me. Jeff and I stood on opposite sides of the table with a smirk.

"Alright boys. Let's start betting! Ten bucks on me winning. Whatcha say?" The guys all all stared at me for a moment before laughing.

"Jeff is the King of Beer Pong. There's no way you're beating him. Twenty on Jeff." Justin said as he placed the money on the table.

"I'll match that." Zach said as he played twenty down, too. Monty, Marcus and Justin's girlfriend, Jessica, all placed twenty down, too.

"Fuck it. I put fifty bucks on Jeff. You're going down, girly." Bryce said. I smirked some at them all.

"I put a hundred on the girl." This boy spoke up from behind me. I turned and noticed his short blonde hair. He had a septum piercing similar to mine. I smiled as the boy placed the money on the table. The guys watched him and laughed.

"Alright, Standall. Prepare to watch her lose to the king." Bryce said as Jeff handed me two ping pong balls.

"Ladies first, sweetheart." Jeff said while winking. I rolled my eyes and focused on his cups.

The first ball I bounced it off the table and it went into the cup. Jeff rolled his eyes as he drank out of the cup. The second one I threw up in the air and got it into another cup. I cracked my knuckles as Jeff threw his balls and only got one cup. I drank the beer then began to focus on my next shot. This supposed 'King of Beer Pong' was going down.

After about ten minutes, I had 2 cups left to get Jeff out and he has 4 left to get me out. The boys were slowly turning against Jeff and began to cheer me on. I laughed some as I threw my one ball and watched it move around the rim of the cup before falling in. Jeff groaned as he had to drink the beer. One last cup. I bounced the ball and intentionally missed the final cup. Jeff gave me this look as I smirked.

"Tell you what. Since I'm beating your ass at this game, I'll give you a shot. You can shoot until you get one cup left." I said. Jeff rolled his eyes and I allowed him to get down to one cup. Took a few minutes but we both had one cup left.

I let Jeff shoot first and he shot too far right with the first ball and a little too left the second time. I held the balls and smirked some. I bounced my first ball on the table and then threw my second one up in the air. The first ball landed in the cup and then the second ball landed in the cup with it. The group was quiet before they began cheering for me. I lifted my beer up to Jeff as he held his up with me.

"And the King of Beer Pong has fallen. Pay up to me and this kid now, boys." I said as I held my hand out. Jessica handed me the money as I split it with the kid. One twenty each. I smiled at the kid.

"I'm Alex by the way. It's nice to meet you." Alex said as the two of us soon walked away from the guys. I giggled softly and went to sit in the grass.

"I'm (Y/N). I just moved to town. My friend Sheri said I should come to the party to make friends." I spoke to Alex. He smiled at me and began to look around the party.

"So, you're going to Liberty High I'm guessing?" Alex asked. I smiled at him with a nod.

"Yup! I'm gonna be a junior. Kind of sucks being the new kid. At least I'll know people though." I smiled at Alex. He chuckled and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"These are the assholes you're gonna have to deal with the next year or two. Don't worry, though. Jeff, Sheri and I will show you around the school." Alex said. I nodded before Sheri came over to us.

"I see you're making friends, (Y/N). Also heard you beat Jeff at beer pong. I'm driving my friend Hannah home. You need a ride?" Sheri said. I looked at Alex and shook my head.

"Nawh. I think I'm gonna stay here for a bit longer. I'll text ya when I get home, Sheri." I smiled at her. She nodded and soon left back into the house.

Alex and I continued to talk as Jeff brought us over a few beers and a few solos cups. I did much more drinking than Alex did since he needed to drive home. Instead of driving me home since I left my house keys in Sheri's car, I stayed at Alex's house.

He led me to his room were he helped me lay down. He gave me an extra pair of pajamas and let me sleep in his bed. Alex had set himself up on his floor but I felt bad so we shared his bed. I cuddled up against him and slowly closed my eyes.

"Good night, (Y/N). Hope you had fun tonight." Alex said as he gently kissed my forehead. A small smile moved over my lips as I buried my face deeper into Alex's chest.
