Many years ago when I was 17, someone special to me would get on my case about making the damn bed
Now I am gonna get on your case about the same thing
If you wanna change the world, start off by making your bed
You will accomplish the first task of the day if you take this advice
It also will give you a small sense of pride (also relief that your lovely wife won't cuss you out)
That small sense of pride will encourage you to do another task (like walking all 9,999 cats)
Then another, then another
Each one increasing in difficulty but the bed gives you power
By the time the sun sets, making your damn bed would have turned into multiple tasks completed.
Making your damn bed will also reinforce the fact that the small stuff in life matters
You will never be able to do the big thing right if you can't do the little things right
By defining what your bed is and making your bed, you take the first baby step in overcoming your first obstacle that keeps you from doing the little things and you gradually become a success.
I am able to do what I do and live happily because of that one person who showed me that life lesson
If you have a very long, stressful, and miserable day (then come home to having to leash train 9,999 cats for your wife and teach them all how to shit in the toilet), you will lay down in a bed that is made by you and that will encourage your luck in the future.
A properly made bed is more rewarding in life than a poorly made bed (or a couch covered in cat fur and piss)
