Alyssa is 4yrs old. Tomorrow was christmas eve and she was very excited. Her daddy was going to come home early today and would not have to work on christmas eve or on christmas.
Mommy was always sad, crying, or sleeping. Alyssa was excited to see daddy. She hoped that maybe it would make mommy happy. Alyssa always tried to cheer her up but by doing this, it always made her cry harder and harder. Alyssa cannot stand it when her mommy cries and she especially hates it when she thinks it is her fault. Her daddy always told Alyssa that it wasn’t her fault but it always confused her and she had no clue what to believe.
Today, Alyssa decided that she was going to make mommy happy. She got mommy a christmas present and was going to give it to her early. Alyssa wanted to give her, her favorite doll that she got on the day that she was born. Alyssa went upstairs to her mommy’s room where she was sleeping. Alyssa tried to open the door but the doorknob was too high up for her to reach.
She then started to bang at the door and yell for mommy to open it.
No response.
Alyssa was a very smart little girl. Alyssa got the idea to open her mother’s bedroom door by gathering objects she could stand on and stacking them in front of the door. She finally opened mommy’s door. Alyssa saw her lying on the bed sleeping. She then used the objects she used to open the door to get on top of the bed. Alyssa noticed that mommy was holding a paper in one hand and a yellow bottle in the other hand.
Alyssa was about to try to wake her mother up but noticed that there was little pieces of white candy scattered all over the bed. Before she woke her mother up, she wanted to eat the candy so that her mother did not have the chance to say no. She knew they had to be good because she could tell that mommy ate some before she fell asleep.
After eating about 4 pieces, she got tired and decided to snuggle mommy and take a nap. She said “Mommy, wake up if you wanna see my gift”. The last thing Alyssa did before she fell asleep was she put her doll in mommy’s hand and laid on mommy’s tummy. The last thing she heard was daddy walking through the front door early from down stairs.
