"20 away from the border. How far away are you? Should I attack?" Mei's wolf asked.

They were going as fast as they can, as fast as they can together at least, but it seems like the enemies would still make it to the border before them. Mei didn't want to tell her wolves to attack considering Suzai was there too and there is a possibility that she can get hurt but she didn't know how else they were going to slow down their enemies that were clearly moving faster than they were.

"Defense stance C don't let them pass. But make sure the girl and the scrolls are safe." She commanded. The wolf didn't speak telepathically anymore as his response was through a soft howl. To anyone else it might just be barely audible but to her, it was loud and clear like her wolf was just right beside her. Mei explained the situation to Kakashi who relayed the information to the rest of the team. They tried their best to speed up in hopes that they will arrive there in time.

Thankfully, Team 7 was able to catch up to them. They stood hidden in the shadows as they watched Mei's wolves try to keep them from going further. Mei bit her lips asn she held back a growl. She wanted to go out there and beat the crap out of those people and help her wolves but she knew she couldn't and she shouldn't. She had to remain hidden. She caught her red wolf's eye and the wolf immediately looked away while it awaited for its master's orders.

"Just a bit longer, Akairo. You and you're pack must leave once I start the technique."

The wolf said nothing but she knew that he understood and heard her.

"Kakashi, once I do my technique, use your sharingan to retrieve Suzai and the scrolls and leave at once. I already told you who these people are" Mei whispered to Kakashi as she performed the seals for her technique

Burning fog Jutsu

She took a deep breathe and when she exhaled, she released a thick fog that seemed to burn everything it touches. She couldn't quite control it but she blew it at the direction of the enemies so that Kakashi wouldn't get hit. Unfortunately, her foes had found a way around her technique. They werent exactly being hurt but they couldnt exactly fight off Kakashi, who fortunately, was quick enough to grab both scrolls and Suzai.

"This will not defeat them." Akair's voice spoke in her mind as the red wolf itself appeared beside her. Mei was more angry that surprised at this and scolded her wolf. "I told you to go, Akairo."

"Forgive me, I'll leave when I have established that both you and Suzai are safe."

Mei released a soft sigh at her summoning's stubbornness but didn't pay much mind to it. She concentrated on trying to get Suzai and her team to safety. They were almost there if only her technique had not brushed against Kakashi's ankle as she tried to direct it at an enemy who was coming for him. Akairo quickly jumped into action, swftly avoiding the fog as he made his way to collect the scrolls and Susai, who miraculously, was still unconscious. Kakashi staggered his way towards them, hissing in pain as he avoided less and less of the fog on the way back, even with both Sakura and Naruto aiding him. Mei slowly lifted the techniqu which she quickly regretted seeing as it was clearly a big mistake.
