"Alright, everyone! Great practice."
With a sigh, Meredith and the rest of the cheerleading team broke out of their poses, tired from their continuous runs of the routine. It was a simple one to be showcased during the tournament later that day, but their coach always insisted on perfection.
Wiping her face with her white hand towel, Meredith walked over to the benches where her bag was next to Dude. The dog had patiently been waiting for her there the entire time since she took him on a walk around the grounds early that day before her morning cheerleading practice. She couldn't wait to take a shower and get dressed in comfortable clothes before school started, but that all went down the drain when she realized that Dude was sniffing and searching through her bag, probably bored from just sitting the entire time.
"Hey! Bad dog!" she scolded, picking up her pace. She jogged towards him, but before she could stop him, Dude had jumped off of the bench with a piece of her clothing in his mouth and sprinted away.
Meredith quickly looked through her bag and noted that Dude had snatched her undershirt. She couldn't wear her actual top without it, so she really had no choice but to get it back. With an annoyed groan, she swung her bag over her shoulder and ran after the mutt, looking like an idiot as she yelled for him to stop.
On the other side of Auradon Prep, right outside the actual school building, Carlos was walking down the hallway full of lockers and down to the grassy area to meet up with his friends. He knew he'd be first to arrive with all his friends probably still sleeping. He did try to wake Jay up, but he kept falling back asleep. Carlos didn't mind, though, and chose to use this time to study. He didn't want to admit it, but he was starting to get serious with his classes even though he knew he'd have to leave this place once they retrieved Fair Godmother's wand. However, what Carlos really didn't expect that morning was to see his new favorite animal sprinting across the grass with clothes in his mouth.
"Dude?" he called out. The dog's ears perked up at the sound of his name. When he spotted Carlos, he changed direction and ran towards him.
"Hey, buddy, what's that you got?"
He kneeled down to scratch the dog's head. Dude eventually let go of the object and Carlos picked it up. His eyes widened when he realized it was an undershirt, and based on the size, it was for a petite girl.
"Dude! Where are you!" a feminine voice called out, sounding irritated. Carlos searched for the source, wondering if this girl was the owner of the undershirt. He began to panic, unsure if he should give it back to Dude or return it to the girl himself, if she even was the one who owned it — he still wasn't very good at socializing with people aside from those from the Isle.
Meredith emerged from the bushes, looking frazzled. She couldn't believe she had ran after a dog around the school just so she could get her clothes back. She hoped nobody was around this time considering it was still early, although class was about to begin for some of the older students.
