A/N: Y'all I ordered a hoodie from the Cameron Boyce Foundation and I can't wait for it to arrive!! I love how Cameron's friends are actively keeping his memory alive :') I miss him so much, and I'm sure he'd be proud of his friends for what they're doing right now and his fans for supporting his advocacies even if he's gone.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter! It hasn't been proofread so please excuse any typos or mistakes if there are any HAHA
While the seniors attempted to survive their last year of high school and the juniors secretly planned the Senior Quest for them, the VKs had other responsibilities, too. As Ben promised on the night of the Royal Cotillion, they were working on sending more kids from the Isle of the Lost to study and live in Auradon. Hence, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos spent their remaining free time in preparation for a trip back to the Isle — that is, upon the Royal Council's approval. The four friends hoped with all their being that it would be approved so that they could personally convince the Isle kids that moving to Auradon would be worth it.
Carlos pushed aside his concerns about the Isle to focus on the long-awaited scavenger hunt. It would finally take place that day, and he couldn't wait even if he wasn't competing alongside Mal, Evie, and Jay.
Meredith and Carlos found themselves at the tourney field that afternoon while the sun was still out and shining down on them. They were both dressed in comfortable clothing, knowing that they'd have to wait for a long time later on while the seniors accomplished the Senior Quest. Even if nobody was there yet, they spoke in hushed tones to go over the list and check if everything had been settled already.
"First," Meredith began from the top of the list. "Collect a shard from Cinderella's glass slipper."
"Second," Carlos read aloud next. "Pluck a flower from Aurora's rose garden."
"Cut off a lock of Rapunzel's hair."
"Steal a banana from Terk."
"Bring back one of Rajah's collars."
"I swear, Jasmine's tiger is more fashionable than I am," Meredith commented jokingly. "Next, pick an apple from Snow White's orchard."
"Take a slice of birthday cake from Mad Hatter's tea party."
"Grab a thingamabob from Ariel's collection."
"Bake a beignet using Princess Tiana's recipe. Hey, do you think Jay will save some for us?" Carlos wondered.
"It's Jay," Meredith deadpanned. "He would inhale the whole batch of beignets before it even cools down."
"That's true," Carlos said resignedly. He wished one of his friends would be considerate enough to save him a beignet, especially since it would be made with Tiana's famous recipe. However, he knew they would be too focused on the game to even think of that. "Anyway, next: kiss a prince."
"Does that mean Chad would have to kiss Aziz or something?" Meredith said mischievously.
"It's a good thing I set up hidden cameras, then," Carlos grinned back at her.
"Perfect. I can't wait to blackmail him. Now, for the last item: hum 'Be Our Guest' when you get to the finish line."
"I think everything's good," Carlos said, smiling with satisfaction.
