A/N: Belated happy birthday to Cameron ❤️ I just turned 21 a few days ago and it hit me again how young he was, but it's better to celebrate his life through his lovable characters than dwell on his passing :) Hope y'all enjoy this longer-than-usual chapter bc it's been a while since I last posted! Don't forget to give it a vote and comment bc I'd love to know what you guys think about it :>
The last day of school arrived. Exams were over, grades had been posted, and graduation was fast approaching. It was also around this time in which college decisions would go out to those who had applied. Jay got accepted into Sherwood Forest University where he would play collegiate-level sports. Doug was still waiting to hear whether he had gotten into one of the top seven schools in the kingdom, but his friends were confident he would — he was a really smart guy, after all.
There were also some students who decided not to pursue college and instead explore other options. Lonnie was going pro and joining her brother on the Great Wall team. Evie was going to expand her fashion line, and Mal was going to help Ben with his royal duties and learning the ropes of palace life.
On the other hand, the undergraduates were also preoccupied with planning the graduation for their beloved seniors. Aside from building close relationships with them over the years, this was a legendary batch, for it was the first one with kids from the Isle of the Lost. As expected, Meredith, Carlos, and Jane were one of the firsts to volunteer in preparing for the event, and they made sure to make it as special as possible for them.
It was a truly blissful time for the group of friends, especially the VK's. Growing up on the Isle of the Lost, they didn't think they even had much of a future — but all of that changed when they moved to Auradon. There was a whole new life ahead of them now. However, they weren't officially done with high school just yet. They still had to pull their Senior Prank, and of course, the former villains had to make it the best one yet. They came from the Isle, so there was no way they'd be leaving Auradon Prep without a bang.
Hence, on one fateful morning, the students who would leave the dorms for the school buildings found a carriage crashed into the front of the school entrance. The carriage was half in and half out of the wall, and part of it was made of pumpkin. It was so realistic that it looked as if something terrible had happened. People were worried at first, but that was until they read what was written on the back of the carriage window: SENIORS RULE!
Meredith stared at it before glancing at Carlos, who didn't look at all shocked at the scene.
"I'm guessing you helped them out?" she said knowingly.
"How could I not?" Carlos said mischievously. "This is practically our area of expertise."
But there was more, and Carlos didn't bother to tell Meredith about most of them just so he could see her reaction. He kept his mouth shut and tried not to look excited when she bought a bottle of water from a vending machine, because last night, he and Jay stocked them with their own bottles that just happened to have goldfish inside of them. She was talking to him as she picked it up, not having seen the creature inside just yet. When she lifted the bottle to take a sip, she finally noticed it and yelped.
"Carlos!" she hit his arm after she nearly drank the water with a live fish inside. Carlos laughed and dodged her attacks.
"Come on, it's a harmless prank!"
"Harmless? I could've swallowed this thing!" Meredith shoved the bottle in front of his face.
"But that would've been funny." Meredith made a motion as if to hit him again, making Carlos back up. "I'm kidding!"
"You guys are really good with this whole pranking thing," she shook her head, both tired from constantly being on edge that day but also impressed. "Almost too good."
