title means calamity in korean if you were curious.
I had a terrible, sinking feeling in my stomach when I woke up today. The skies were darker, the sun wasn't shining, and everything seemed so gloomy. I figured it was just because it was mid autumn, but I was still concerned.
I walked around the CDC, over the skybridge that then took us to the B-Wing where our dorms were.
Oh right, I haven't given you guys a tour.
So the A-Wing is where we spend most of our time. The kitchen, dining room, entertainment room and Jordan's lab were all there. The B-Wing was just lined with storage and bedrooms. The C-Wing was where all the pathogens they had were stored. There was a vault, and you'd need a pass code to get in.
Sadly, it was out of reach, because Jordan had no idea what the pass code was.
So, anyway, I was in the lobby. I saw Jordan approaching me, so I put my notebook away and put it on my lap.
"Hey," He nods.
I nod back, greeting him.
"I, uh, wanted to talk about something specifically," He told me.
I didn't respond, I just kept staring at him.
"I've noticed Mike's dirty looks towards me."
I wanted to laugh so badly.
I ended up stifling a laugh, earning myself an odd look from Jordan.
He clears his throat awkwardly, "Anyway, I was...uh, just wondering what was wrong. And I asked you because you seemed really close to him?"
I nod in understanding. "I'll let you in on a secret."
He cocks his head to the side in confusion. "Okay."
I said, "He likes Seryana."
He bursts out in laughter. "Is that it?! Oh man, you better tell him I am totally not attracted to her."
"You aren't?" I asked.
"Of course I'm not! I've never told any of you about this, but I'm aromantic. I experience no romantic attraction," He informs.
I wanted to slap myself in the face for not realizing that. Everything made so much sense now. He's never mentioned a romantic partner, nor has he ever made a move on Seryana. I initially thought it was because he barely knew her - no, any of us for that matter - but apparently not.
I grin, glad for the sole fact that Mike was finally going to stop screaming about them. "I'll be sure to tell him that."
Jordan smiles. "Thanks."
He gets up to leave, giving me some alone time again. I went back to writing, when a thought hit my head. Why the hell hadn't we tried communicating with anyone else yet?"
Before I lost it, I went to go find Jordan who was - unsurprisingly - in his lab testing some vials for a potential cure.
"Do you have a satellite tower?" I asked.
He looks at me oddly, but nods. "B-wing. Roof. You'll see a little makeshift room thing with a bunch of devices."
"Thanks," I quickly said, then headed to the designated place.
Sure enough, it was there. Air conditioning, lights, everything was up and running. I entered the small room and started turning the radios from frequency to frequency.
At one point, it was static, but then that soon disappeared. I waited, and waited, heart pounding in my chest in fear of what was to happen if I made the slightest bit of noise.
