Jimin sighed heavily as he looked at his fingers. He twitched them and winced as his joints protested. He ignored the look of pain Namjoon sent him. He didn't want this, he didn't want to be a mutant but his life had been chosen for him. Siwon, a man he thought he could trust had thrust this life upon him. He, like Namjoon and Taehyung, were raised to hate supers. Anyone that had abilities was considered a monster, and now he was one.

"When are we getting off?" He asked as he looked at Namjoon. He didn't care that the subjects didn't want to follow Namjoon, his older friend was the only one he would trust to guide him.

"We need to wait at least three hours. Freight trains don't go as fast as passenger trains." Namjoon dug around in his backpack to pull out the map. "If you check this, the train runs near the shore. If we wait that long we should get to the shoreline. Then whatever place the train stops at we can jump off. We can take a boat out of the country. If we are  careful we will find smugglers."

"Where's the asylum?" Jimin frowned and closed his eyes and tried to pretend he felt no pain.

"It's just out of the country." Yoongi spoke up and looked at Jimin with barred eyes. "It's a rumour. Every mutant has heard about it but nobody knows where it is. They say that if you need to go there you will find it."

"Sounds like a fairy tale." Jimin trailed off and let his head rest on Namjoon's shoulder. His eyes slid shut as he felt the familiar warmth of his friends body against his flesh.

"For our sakes, I hope it isn't."

"It exists." Namjoon put his hand on Jimin's and gently started massaging his fingers. "It hurts right? Don't try and move too much, you'll just make it worse. It shouldn't take too much longer for your abilities to manifest so be careful. We don't know what exactly your abilities are yet."

"Why does it hurt this much?" Jimin questioned as he looked over at the two in the corner. Seokjin and Yunghee had fallen asleep a long time ago. His arms were still around her and her face was burrowed into his chest. If he didn't know any better, he would have thought they were dating.

"That's the way it is with abilities. Yunghee is lucky she has Seokjin to balance her. Taehyung is lucky Jungkook is here too, they both channel the void. It will help him manifest faster." Namjoon put down Jimin's hand after it relaxed then started massaging his other hand. "You won't have a counterpart so yours will hurt the most, and maybe even last the longest."

"I'm not good with pain." Jimin mumbled, watching Namjoon's fingers gently ease the aching out of his fingers.

"Yes you are. You're the strongest person I know."

"Really? Him? I thought it was me." Hoseok said dryly, not caring when Namjoon glared at him.

"Look. I get it, you don't like us, you don't trust us. But we are all going to the same place. At least try to be civil until we get there. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that we can only make it if we work together. The more we fight, the easier they will catch up." Namjoon said with a growl. His voice got Seokjin blinking tiredly and waking up.

  "I don't trust you."

"Well I don't trust you either."

"We don't need to trust him." Seokjin's voice was husky from napping, his eyelids still drooping and tired. "He was already tossed aside after being a loyal attendant. He would get nothing for turning us in. He needs to get there as bad as we do." Yunghee shifted in his arms and he frowned feeling a shiver of cold from her body. He put his palm over her ear so she wouldn't wake up. "We need to participate."

"Yeah. Fine." Hoseok shook his head and shot the sleeping girl a look.

"If we're stuck here longer, I am going to sleep." Yoongi sighed and laid himself down on the rough metal floor of the train car. Hoseok lightly pulled on Yoongi's sleeve, leading the older boy to put his head in Hoseok's lap. Jimin watched them before looking back at his fingers. Sighing he grabbed the backpack and pulled the zipper, he yelped as the zipper snapped right off the bag.

"What are you doing?" Namjoon sighed and took the bag from Jimin, his eyes followed the tear the actions had made in the cloth.

"I wanted more medication." Jimin looked at the zipper in his hands and stared flabbergasted at the crushed metal in his hand. He bit his lip not sure what to say. He clutched the zipper in his hands and didn't show Namjoon. It was stupid, but if he showed him, getting powers would be real. Jimin would no longer be normal.

"You took too much already." Namjoon sighed and stared seriously at the ripped cloth. "You will have to be careful Jimin. You will have to monitor your strength."

"What strength?" Jimin felt the crushed metal in his hands. Each displaced joint of the zipper dug into his skin.

"Jimin, you have no strength. If you did this, then it wasn't you." Namjoon picked at the frayed cloth. Jimin was too weak from his powers maturing. So to break it, he had to have used super human strength, it was his powers growing in. It made sense now why he found it so hard to move. Jimin's body was struggling with density and struggling to adjust to a different level.

"I don't want this." Jimin dropped the zipper and stared at the metal floor blankly.

"None of us do." Namjoon spoke up before Hoseok had the chance to throw an insult their way. "I'll be with you the whole way Minnie, I swear."

"I know you will." Jimin smiled weakly at his older friend. He didn't want Namjoon to protect him though. He wanted to be strong enough to protect the former lab assistant. His eyes slid shut as he came to understand. He was strong, he was like Colossus, he could be the wall between his friends and danger. He never wanted this to happen, but it happened the best way it could have. He would do whatever he could to protect his precious people.
