Jungkook woke up to a chill in his bones. His bones themselves seemed to ache in their sockets and his skin was stiff. Sighing softly he forced his eyes open to see a mass of hair under his chin. The chill in his cheeks rushed away as he identified the body curled against his. He thought he had pulled himself against Yoongi, as he was prone to do in the night, however the form pressed against him was very, very feminine. His hands shook as he felt her nose brush against his neck his fingers ghosted against her shoulder and he squirmed uncomfortably when his awareness tuned into the feel of her chest against his. Gulping he put his hands on her shoulders and pushed her back. As soon as the chill left his body he scrambled back across the dusty floor, coating his pants in dirt. He chocked on dust as he stared at Yunghee with wide eyes.

"She didn't commit a crime kid," Namjoon said with a breathy laugh. Jungkook glared at the older boy, hating the way he made him feel childish. "You were the one that pulled her in. She fought quite a bit, too tired to fight back."

  "She was awake?"

"No, she wasn't." Namjoon's simple answer and shake of the head filled Jungkook with relief, but that didn't stop him from biting his lip fiercely.

Jungkook followed his gaze to see two figures cuddling on the floor. He wasn't surprised to see Hoseok had himself bundled close to someone. The four of them had taken to cuddling whoever happened to be their cellmate, it made them feel safer, less alone. Hoseok himself was the most clingy, almost more so than he was. Their resident mood lifter was the saddest at night, and used the cuddling to hide his emotions. He was about to eye Namjoon, question why he thought that was so interesting until he saw the person that was bundled in Hoseok's arms. He had experienced Hoseok's iron grip many times, and the unfortunate person in his grasp was Seokjin. "I thought she was Yoongi."

"And Yoongi thought I was you." Namjoon's lips curled into an amused smile. "Don't worry, I doubt she will remember it in when she wakes up. Neither will Yoongi. You don't tell him, I won't tell her."

"Deal," Jungkook said softly, ducking his head. "Will we get out of here okay?"

"We're going to try to." Namjoon smiled at him weakly. "You'll be alright kid." A sigh escaped his lips as he looked down at the map. Jungkook scurried closer to him and looked at the map, ogling at all of the new symbols. "Jimin did lookout last night as well and he went over the map, devising a path for us. You can trust him."

"I know." Jungkook stared down at the map, remembering his time at Primatech. Jimin and Hoseok were some of the nicer people, he had given all the nice and kind workers nicknames. Namjoon he had called L for lab guy, Jimin was G guard, and there was another F, for food person. He trusted them, he believed he could because how they treated him before they were on the same side meant everything for him.

"Are we going?" Yunghee pushed herself up off of the ground with unfocused eyes. Her pale skin made her look like a doll, every day she lost more colour the blue tinge becoming more natural for her. Jungkook thought she was beautiful each and every way, she was like Snow White to him. Hoseok wasn't wrong when he called her a Princess.

"Soon." Namjoon had dismissed her unlike Jungkook. He saw women on a daily basis and didn't view a woman waking up as a personal miracle bestowed upon the land. "We'll need to make sure everyone is awake and has a bit to eat before we go. Jimin and I gathered some berries earlier, that should hold us for awhile." Yunghee yawned and stretched her eyes before looking at Jungkook curiously, not sure why he was staring at her. Tiredly she walked over to Jimin and knelt down beside him poking his cheek.

"Morning." Jimin said softly, his eyes opened slowly before a smile etched on his lips seeing her waking him up. "We're going to head out?" He groaned and stretched out his limbs. It hurt him to move, but he knew he had to. If he let himself sit in pain then they would be captured. The pain of moving was nothing compared to what the company would do, he knew it.

"As soon as we can." Namjoon nodded in affirmation before he slid his arms under Taehyung, pulling the sleeping mutant up. Taehyung's eyes opened and looked around the room, his eyes were clouded and unfocused as he took in the fact he was standing. "He's still out of it." Namjoon cursed and looked up at the ceiling, mentally he didn't think they would survive. He didn't think it was possible to sneak past the militia that would be seeking them out. The company knew he had an ability over force fields, he didn't know if they knew about his invisibility. If they did then his ability did nothing. They could have everyone fit out with goggles that would let them see their heat, rendering their lack of visibility useless. He wouldn't tell the rest but he had no faith in them surviving.

Yoongi trudged through the undergrowth with weary eyes, Jungkook could tell his older friend was struggling with a migraine. Being the front of their pack and searching for life signs other than the ones behind him was hard on his abilities. Even if the company had worked on pushing them hard, they had never tried to make their abilities precise in use. Jungkook shuddered when he felt Taehyung hum in his ear, the darkness from the boy he was carrying was stifling. He could feel the void twisting between them, connecting them in an inexplicable way. He knew he would never know another person like he would knew Taehyung, it would be impossible for the understanding they would share to be one-upped by anyone.

"So, how long till we are screwed over?" Hoseok broke the dreary silence with his bitter words. He didn't bother looking behind him at the rest of the group, he remained as close to Yoongi at the front as possible.

"We won't be screwed over. We only have one chance and we need to make the most of it." Yunghee played with her fingers clenching and unclenching them as she tried to stay positive.

"We'll die either way, we either die to our real selves and rejoin Primatech, or we die to reality and become a walking lie." Hoseok had let all his hope drain out over the years, he had given up on being positive like how he used to be. He pretended to be for his cellmates, but there was no point now. Not when they were about to lose their new freedom.

"Stop it." Seokjin glared at Hoseok, he was growing tired of the younger boys negativity. "You know you're thinking the same as her, you don't have to keep pretending you're not."

"We don't have time to fight." Namjoon spoke up after Seokjin, narrowly avoiding a thick root.

"People approaching." Yoongi stiffened, holding up his hand.

"We don't know what material they have so everyone behind me. I'll try and keep all of us unseen, hold tight, and don't make a noise." Namjoon stepped to the front of the group and scanned the area before spreading out his hands. A clear tape like substance surrounded the group flexing around them like a bubble before settling in the air, as if sticking to an unseen force.

Jungkook gulped and gripped onto Taehyung tightly, feeling his chest tighten as he waited for the people to approach. He was scared that they would be caught and he would be trapped in his cage again. It was all he knew, he knew he would survive if he went back, but he was scared over what they would do to him, how they would push him. He could feel the void wrapping around him in a cold solace, telling him he would be okay. But he was scared of its comfort, of its promise. It's promise only ever served to hurt him and those around him. Jungkook waited to hear the noise of boots trudging through the undergrowth. When he finally heard the rustling of leaves he had jumped and buried his head into Taehyung. The mutant had been immobile staring forwards with reflective eyes, not caring for Jungkook, his eyes were on the void, not on their reality.

Namjoon put his finger to his lips when he saw the group panicking, his action spurned disgust from Hoseok and a roll of the eyes from Yoongi. His reminder hung in their air reminding them what they had at stake. Despite the reactions he received it set the air into the proper respect needed for the situation.

What appeared to be hikers appeared in view, five men were clothed in normal clothes with heavy backpacks and serious expressions. Jungkook looked up to see them slowly moving amongst the undergrowth. They looked like they were hunting, that was the first clue they were Primatech. The second was the radios they had clipped on their belts. Each radio had earphones that were pushed into one of their ears, letting them hear what other teams were saying without the group of mutants hearing. Namjoon relaxed upon seeing they were wearing no glasses, the group would remain unseen, their only job was remaining quiet.

Jungkook looked over at Yunghee, watching her lips turn blue in nervousness. His eyes sharpened, watching as Seokjin naturally pulled the girl into his chest. He felt jealous seeing Seokjin holding the girl so close, both awake and aware, both pressing into the other for comfort. Her skin brightened losing its pale tinge from his touch, yet Jungkook was useless. He wanted to be able to help her like that, he wanted to be a knight as well, but only Seokjin could be. Frustrated he looked away from them and watched the Primatech guards as they inched past the bubble the group was hiding in. Jungkook could barely keep patient as he watched them slowly walk away and towards the lake they had originally been at. He wanted them to go so he could get away to freedom, so he wouldn't have to be nervous and neither would she, so she wouldn't have to cling to Seokjin for help. He closed his eyes, and let the void surround him, taking in the energy Taehyung was releasing.

They were finally free. They had escaped the worst danger.
