"So, would you like to be sorted out of the asylum, or stay?" The girl in front of Yoongi flashed him a blank smile as she held her pen over her paper.
"Excuse me?" Yoongi said as he crossed his arms and glared at the attendant. As soon as they had hit land they were assulated by fake people. Flat smiles were assaulting them and hollow welcomes echoed through everyone's ears. Namjoon had thrown Yunghee, Jimin, and Taehyung in the back declaring them normals. Yoongi didn't have the urge to care, he could lie about whatever he wanted to. But that just meant he was alone now with this coordinator.
"Well, we have a sorting system to help mutants find their way into the real world again. We also have rooms here that they can stay in, but many don't stay long." She flashed him another empty smile. "Which would you like?"
"Sorted out, whatever." He rolled his eyes not caring. It was obvious to him that no matter what people chose, they eventually got sorted out anyways. There was no point in wasting time, if they were going to get rid of him, they may as well do it at their own pace.
"Wonderful! We are glad to be able to assist you here!" She beamed, finally looking at least a bit honest.
"Sure." He scoffed and stood up making his way to the door.
"Wait, what's your name?" That nameless girl continued to annoy him, seeking out everything she could.
"Call me Three." He said dryly before walking out of the room. Yoongi seriously couldn't care less about this whole event. Sure he was glad to be out of that hell, but he didn't need to share his whole life like some evangelists just because of it. If they were gonna rename him anyways he wouldn't give them anything. He saw Hoseok and waved him down. "I hate it here."
"Same." Hoseok shuddered and looked along the hallways. "It feels just like a prison. Won't have to stay here long though. I applied to get sorted."
"Same." Yoongi smiled dryly and knocked elbows with Hoseok. Just the small amount of contact flared his abilities, his nerves made it hard to tone down the effects. He could already feel a headache blooming.
"Everyone has split off." Hoseok sighed and started walking, guiding Yoongi. "Seokjin is staying with that girl. Making sure she doesn't manifest in front of everyone. Jimin is stumbling along with Namjoon, and Jungkook is trying to stay with that asshole."
"I hate that kid." Yoongi said with a snarl as he thought of Taehyung. Whenever he saw that kid it was always with condescending glares and smirks of contempt. It was his worst nightmare to be stuck with that kid, at least it was over.
"I know." Hoseok scoffed and shook his head. "I'm going to try and make sure we get sorted together, okay? I don't want Jungkook alone." His voice died off as his expression darkened. He hated how the void affected Jungkook, he didn't want the kid going through it all alone. He was a good kid, he needed solid friends that would help him.
"Good." Yoongi nodded and stopped as they passed a door. He could tell what it was instantly, a med clinic. Whatever mutants that needed help were in there. Who knows if it was daily checkups or getting patched up.
"Yoongi...." Hoseok felt his voice die in his throat as he watched the older boy stare morosely at the patients.
"I wish there was more to me than killing. I want to do good, not just be a thing of destruction." Yoongi's voice drifted off and he closed his eyes trying to ignore the stressful weight building in his chest. Why was he cursed with death? He could have anything, but his only talent was killing.
"Don't worry about it, alright? Your abilities don't define you." Hoseok put his hand on Yoongi's shoulder and smiled warmly at him. "Don't let yourself sink too far hyung, we both know that negativity is too hard to get out of, so stay positive."
"Only for you." Yoongi smiled weakly at Hoseok, "now get me to the cafeteria I am hungry."
"Of course you are. We have been alone for so long. Wait until you see the fine specimen that they have here. The girls have such curves, you could almost," Hoseok licked his lips and shook his head. "We have found heaven."
Yoongi smirked and shook his head, once again Hoseok was hiding his feelings with words. But well he couldn't deny he wanted to see the girls. When he entered the caf he had scanned the whole room and identified every girl, scanned it again to identify those to his taste. Which was all, he couldn't deny that every form had something to it.
"Let's go sit with Seokjin." Hoseok dragged Yoongi over, not letting the older boy get his filling of attractive people.
"Finally done with your meetings?" Seokjin spun his spoon through his oatmeal as he watched the two boys sit down.
"Finally." Yoongi nodded and looked at Yunghee. Instantly she ducked her head and stuffed oatmeal in her mouth. He watched as she coughed with her mouth shut, trying not to choke on it. Such a weird kid. "Get me food." He looked over at Hoseok and watched as Hoseok considered being sassy, looked at the girl then grumbled and left.
"He really hates being himself around strangers." Seokjin commented as he watched Hoseok trail away.
"We all do." Yoongi responded as he pushed the girls water closer to her, incidentally, Seokjin was doing the same. The two locked eyes then Yoongi removed his hand letting Seokjin coddle the girl.
"Be careful, Hoseok isn't that scary." Seokjin teased as she drank her water.
"I know." Yunghee choked out, she looked embarrassed and schooched a little bit away from Seokjin again. "Will I be fine now? Do we have to keep touching each other still?" Yoongi coughed, trying to not laugh when Seokjin's expression fell. The girl was savage it seemed. He watched as she flailed, blushing and getting embarrassed fast. "I don't mean it like that, I mean, it just must be so uncomfortable for you, I mean we don't even know each other and this is happening. You must really hate it, and I just can't imagine being a burden on you much longer, really."
"Eat your food and shut up." Yoongi sighed and pushed her tray closer. Yunghee squirmed uncomfortably but listened to him, too scared to look at Seokjin. "He doesn't mind the chill helps his asthma, just relax." He didn't have to talk to Seokjin to notice that. With Seokjin's fire abilities it was like he was constantly in a sauna, the humidity stamping on his lungs. The chill helped clear some of it up and give him breathing space.
"Don't worry, Yunghee. I don't mind, he's right." Seokjin smiled at her then spooned some oatmeal in his mouth. Yoongi rolled his eyes at how fast she relaxed. She was such a rollarcoaster, too much work to be around. Guess he would be avoiding Seokjin for the rest of the time he was with her. Seokjin stood as a woman approached their table. "Yoongi, watch over her. Make sure she doesn't manifest, okay? We can't have any rumours getting out."
"Jin," Yoongi said with a growl.
"I haven't had my meeting yet, I can't take her. Yunghee, be good." Seokjin shot her a smile and ran off leaving the two alone.
"Well that's inconvenient." She mumbled as she scooped another spoonful of food in her mouth. Yoongi scowled at her as Hoseok came back with two trays. He did not want to be left alone with the hormonal girl across from him.
"Where did Seokjin go?" Hoseok frowned at Yunghee then handed Yoongi a spoon for the porridge.
"I don't know. I have somewhere to be, watch her." Yoongi shook his head and stood up leaving the two behind shamelessly. He could feel Hoseok's eyes on him as he left his food behind. He would eat later when he wasn't surrounded by oestrogen.
Yoongi still hadn't eaten yet and it had been a few hours since he had last seen Hoseok. He had no clue what either were up to, but surely there was nothing to worry about. No matter how frustrated Hoseok got he wouldn't do something immature. Just as Yoongi thought those words he came across Yunghee standing alone in a hallway with a boy. Unfortunately he met eyes with her and caught her pleading glance.
"Come on, I can show you around." The boy took her hand and she instantly jolted back, turning a vibrant red.
"I'm okay, actually." Her voice wavered as she stepped back.
"I'm sure you're dying for some fun, haven't had any in awhile right? I can show you how to end your night." He smirked and leaned it and Yoongi watched with growing annoyance as she started to shake. Hoseok was supposed to watch her and all it took was a few flirtatious words for her to start manifesting.
"Go," Yoongi said as walked down the corridor, glaring at the boys.
"What?" The boy stepped back frowning. Unfortunately he didn't look as threatened as Yoongi would have liked.
"Go, find another girl harass." Yoongi grabbed Yunghee's hand and pulled her towards him. The boy lifted his hands and backed off. "What's wrong with you?" Yoongi frowned at her, feeling the chill from her hand. "He was just flirting and what, you're reduced to an emotional mess?" He scowled as he watched her cheeks slowly get blotchy from emotion. "How weak are you? If you can't handle this how will you handle the life ahead of you?"
"It's not my fault I am a prude okay! I haven't had a boyfriend, guys don't flirt with me, and I wouldn't be here without you guys destroying my life!" Yunghee glared at him and pulled away. "If you are going to destroy me with your insults at least do it properly! Point out my inadequacy to process, make a comment on how I am swallowing everything and will blow up soon. Don't point out everything that isn't my fault!"
Yoongi pressed his fingers to his temples feeling frustration, he couldn't even nag her without her throwing her hormones in his face. "Just shut up! Okay?" He scowled as he felt his fingers itch from the cold. "Control yourself!"
"I can't! Not when you're yelling!" Her face grew more blotchy as tears started to grow from her eyes. "I can't handle yelling!" Yunghee closed her eyes trying to calm herself down. Yoongi wanted to flip more but she was getting colder by the minute.
"Dammit!" Yoongi cursed as he pulled her into his arms, shivering from the cold. "Calm down, you're going to manifest." He wasn't sure what to do but he figured emulating Seokjin might help.
"I don't know how to calm down!"
"Just stop freaking out, listen to my heartbeat. Whatever you do with Seokjin, copy it!"
"He has fire powers I can't copy it!" She squirmed in his arms and he pressed his lips together before narrowing his eyes.
"You shut down when things happen you don't expect, right?"
"Yeah?" She looked up at him confused. He could see the innocence in her eyes and he knew exactly why she shut down, she just a doe. A little girl who hadn't seen the world yet.
"Forgive me." He murmured, he cupped the back of her head and pressed his lips against hers. He could feel the temperature return to normal as her fingers gripped at his sleeves. Her soft lips matched his chapped ones easily as she returned the gesture in surprise, not yet recognizing the situation.
All in all, mission accomplished.
