Chapter 5

Nichole led me to the table they always sat at during lunch. It was had six round seats and it was by a big window. I smile spread across my face when I saw what was beyond the window, the trees that I saw earlier while walking into the school. I had a better view of the trees now that I was on a second level, they were my favorite type of trees… green pine with big pine cones everything about the trees are amazing the smell, the color, and even the height of them. They make me feel at home.

“Hey Nikki, who’s the new wolf?” a man with a deep sexy voice asked. I took my gaze of the window to see were the sexy voice was coming from. I stopped breathing for a few heartbeats when I saw him.

“This is Lynn Courtney” Nichole said with a cheerful smile “Lynn those are my brothers… sadly” she sighed out the last half and I smiled.

It must be nice to have siblings I’m the only child and I have no one to talk to, even if she hates them at least she has someone to protect her or lean on when needed. Nichole’s brother stretched out his hand; I could feel heat rising in my cheeks as I grasped his hand. He was so cute! No more than cute he was hot. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. He had long wavy hair that reached down to his ears and flipped out like wings.

“I’m Carter Hessel-Wulf” he said shaking my hand firmly. He must have seen my gaze slip down his muscular body. He was just a few inches taller than I was and he was well built like he worked out every day or did lots of hunting. When my gaze returned to his face I noticed I wasn’t the only one blushing. I was sure my cheeks were as red as his; I had to look away from him when I replied 

“Nice to meet you Carter” I looked over to see Nichole glaring at her brother.

“And who are you?” I asked the other brother who was standing by Carter. He was about my height he had a small build but not like his brother. He had the same chocolate brown hair as Carter did but much shorter and spiked at the front, non like Carters sea blue eyes his were moss green.

“This is Logan, my younger brother” Nichole answered for him.

“Nice to meet you” he said it so quietly that I could barely hear him over the passing strangers. As we all sat around the table I kept my focus off of Carter and on the people walking past the table. Nichole and her brothers were talking about all the other packs and the competition for territory.

"Why aren't there any vampires?" i asked keeping my gaze on the other people and shifters.

"Vampires..." Carter asked slowly as if trying not to let go of a laugh.

Yeah, I mean there are so many supernatural’s here but I can’t sent a vampire anywhere” I said turning my gaze towards the group.

“It’s obvious” Logan replied, returning my gaze

“No it’s not stupid! She just moved here idiot” Nichole smacked here younger brother on the back of the head.

“OW! No need to hit me” Logan snapped at Nichole while rubbing the back of his head

 “There are no vampires here because wolves own most of the territory in Winterfell” Nichole replied while smiling at Logan who was now looking out the window.

I couldn’t believe it what I just heard. How many wolf packs lived in Winterfell? I never heard of a whole town not have one vampire in it. That was incredible.

“That-that’s amazing!” I stammered. Carter looked at me and gave me a low sexy laugh that came from the bottom of his stomach, his laugh gave me butterfly's in my stomach. Nichole must of seen me blush because i caught her rolling her eyes at me.

"So  what do you guys do on weekends and who's the alpha male?" I asked curiously

"We take turns patrolling our territory for intruders and Camren is the alpha male"

"I'm Camren's beta" Carter said it with pride and a cocky smile on his lips.

"Oh, So you are second in command then?"

Carter gave me a slight nod telling me i was right, and my mind started to drift of and think about  Carter in command and how good he would be at it. He just had that presence about him, the one i would go into battle with.

"Camren is usually here by now" Logan stated as he looked for his alpha in the crowded halls. As we waited for their alpha we started to talk and get to know each other. As we shared stories Carter started to grow on me a bit, i think i'm starting to like him, and Logan just reminded me of a little brother that my instincts told me to protect, and i shall follow that felling. Out of the blue Nichole turned to me and asked

"Whats it like?"

"What do you mean?" I asked not sure of her question but had a good idea about it.

"Being a hybrid. I mean it must be amazing to have twice the strength and senses" she said it with a big grin on here face and amazement in her voice.

"Your half vampire?" Carter and Logan squeaked at the same time and I gave a silent sigh. Yup i'm defiantly going to lose them now

"Yes i am just don't say it to loud i don't want to get killed on my first day" my voice shacking when i spoke. They all just stared at me waiting for me to answer. I shifted in my seat before I answered them, 

"I guess its alright. The strength is nice same with the speed. Some of the senses can be a pain though, hearing is great but they are my ears are sensitive to loud noises. So being a hybrid can be great but it has it's little perks" I said with a tight smile on my face that felt forced.

"That's totally cool" Carter said with the biggest smile Ive seen on his face. He examined me with his blue eyes that looked like ice but had so much heat in them they looked like they could be blue fire, his steady gaze made me feel like a little school girls who had a crush on one of the hottest guys in grade 11. After we talked more about being a hybrid and how much trouble it can get you in that's when everyone's body language changed. They went from laughing and being relaxed to being stiff and scared. I turned my head to see what had caused such a reaction when i saw a huge man walking towards the table. That must be that alpha.
