i've known many people in the span of my fifteen years, many who are still by my side

but a few decided to leave in different ways, for different reasons, at different times

might it be my fault, or theirs, i mustn't let them fade away like a forgotten polaroid

i won't forget the girl who introduced me to alternative music,

i won't forget the girl who was my very first best friend

i won't forget the boy who i couldn't save

i won't forget my four friends who always seem to make me smile and laugh like crazy on call

i won't forget the spoon to my fork, the tyler to my josh

now you, listen here

if you decide to leave my side, i'll have a small note for you as well

it's quite silly really

i have a folder in my notes for every abandoned memory — i mean, human

a name, a phrase, some from too long ago that there's no point to bring up again even here

sometimes i can't get them off my mind

i'm just trying to go back in time

to fix the damage that was done

or the distance that separated us

but what's done is irreversible

and the past is gone

so all i'm left to do is remember

and not forget anyone anymore
