I bite my lip harder. I don't want to cry, I've cried enough already today. Peeta stares at me for and answer. You can see tears in his eyes. Peeta can't take it any longer,he's bursts into tears. "Katniss what's wrong with m-m-mee" Peeta gets out between his sobs. "I-I-I don't know Peeta? I don't know?" I move closer to where Peeta is sitting and put my arm around him. It feels weird comforting him,It's mostly the other way around.
We sit there for awhile.Just in silence, there's the occasional sob or sniff from Peeta but that's it. Until Peeta speaks, "In the Capitol, the night 13 saved me, a Peacekeeper told me that they would be back for me. I didn't really know what it meant then but now I do,Katniss there gonna come back. The Capitol is gonna come back." I can't bring the courage to believe Peeta, so I make myself say he's wrong. "Peet-" "NO KATNISS,IM NOT IMAGINING IT!" It's Peetas turn to be annoyed. "Peeta. We're going to be ok Snow is dead nothing can happen to us we're safe" I say trying to calm him down "No we're not safe" Peeta somewhat glitches and he's voice goes deep "they will be back"
Peeta stares into my eyes. He soft sky blue eyes have turned to the blackest black you could ever imagine. His gold blonde hair stands on end and his eyes have a bloodthirsty look about them. I start to worry "Peeta? Peeta are you ok?" Peeta glitches again "Katniss...." he glitches again and his voice turns deep "GO!" I'm up on my feet and running upstairs before I can realise what's happening. I reach our room before things get out of hand. I can hear Peeta screaming trying to fight off the beast inside. There's the sound of glass smashing, then more screaming. My back is against the wall and I'm holding onto my knees for dear life. I'm scared. Scared Peeta is gone mad. Scared that the real Peeta is gone forever. I start to rock back and forth. There's still screaming downstairs. There's a big bang as something hits the ground and more glass smashes. Peeta screams louder than ever and there's a thump. I listen for a minute. Nothing is happening. It's gone quiet.
