The wheel continues to spin, I continue to feel less and less anxious, Phil continues to make me smile, and the sun starts to slowly drift down. I stare out across the carnival, all the bright lights and colours seem almost hypnotic in the hazy dusk air.
"It's so beautiful", I say absentmindedly as we reach the top of the wheel again.
"Yeah. It is", Phil replies quietly, but I can tell his eyes aren't on the carnival lights. I look across to him, only to see his eyes quickly dart away from me. Smiling to myself, I try to focus back on the view.
"We should get fairy floss after this", I hear Phil say from beside me. (a/n : stop bullying me it's fairy floss d e a l w i t h i t) I turn towards him and nod with a smile, even though my heart feels like it's about to burst. Is this a date?
No.
It couldn't be, we met like, fifteen minutes ago, and anyway, it's just fairy floss, nothing serious. But on the other hand, he did say he thinks i'm cute, or what I did was cute anyway. And he knows I like boys, and he does too. No, he's probably just trying to pass time, or just give me somewhere else to go, other than with my 'friends'. Probably. Or maybe he actually likes me and this is a date. Probably not.
Maybe i'm over thinking this.
I furrow my brows in thought, as I stare out across the carnival, before being snapped back to reality by Phil asking me something.
"You okay?", he asks, placing a hand on my back.
"Yeah", I say quickly, "Just thinking".
"About what?", Phil asks with a smile as the wheel starts to go down again.
"Would it be weird if I said I was thinking about you?", I ask nervously, shooting him a furtive glance.
"No", he says, before turning to look at me. "It'd be quite fitting, since I was thinking about you too".
I don't know what to say and I feel my cheeks go bright red, so I look away. I hear a little chuckle come from Phil, and even though i'm not looking at him, I can tell he's smiling.
