~Judy's POV~
I pretended to be mad at Nick for getting us into trouble.
If I was honest, I was kind of hoping we'd get to do paperwork today; even though I hated it. I wanted an excuse to hang out with him in a more chilled out environment. Ya know, instead of in our police car charging after bad guys downtown. As you can imagine, you can't exactly connect with someone during the middle of a speed chase.
We got to our shared office without saying a word on the way there. Me and Nick had been promoted to our own private office room now. It's also much more airy and spacious, which was a benefit. I open the door and get in first, feeling his eyes staring at the back of my head. He must still believe I'm annoyed at the stunt he pulled at roll call...I personally thought it was hilarious. Chief Bogo was harsh on him.
"Carrots?" Nick called while shutting the door behind us. "Are you still mad at me?"
I decided to have a little fun with him.
I sat at my desk, spinning my chair around so that my back would be facing him. My arms were crossed and I made a dramatic 'huffing' sound for emphasis. "Yes. I'm very mad."
"Alright, I guess I deserved that." He slowly chuckled as he walked over to his desk. The tone in his voice sounded different, as if he was disappointed. Was I actually getting to him? Nah, he's probably just down about all the paperwork we have to do.
I peeked my head round the chair to see him slouched in his seat. His ears were droopy and had a thoughtful expression on his face. Kinda like the same one he had when I walked into roll call this morning. Weird, he was in a deep thought again. Whatever. This is only going to fuel my fire-to tease him out of his low mood. I have un-finished work to take care of, and since he always does it to me, I'm determined to get him back.
I spin my chair back round to its original position and turn to get a look of him. I notice his ears twitch from my sudden movement, but other than that, he doesn't move a muscle. This is going to be harder than I thought to get his attention...but I always love a challenge.
I reached for my carrot pen on my desk and slid it into my back pocket-keeping it subtle. I knew exactly how to use this! With my cunning plan in mind, I slowly pushed myself in my moving chair so I glided my way over to his desk until my seat gently bumped his. This startled him of course, and he snapped out of his daze. His head lifted up, and turned to face mine. Our noses inches away from touching. Oh sweet cheese and crackers...if I start blushing now I'd die of embarrassment.
"You haven't started your papers yet, grumpy pants." I pout playfully. "You do realise how much we have to do, right?"
"Are you still mad at me?" Nick questions again, tilting his head. This seems to really be bothering him...but I can't back down now! This was my perfect chance.
"Why, of course I am! What you did was unforgivable... Unless..." I continue, giving him a sly smile.
"Unless what?" His eyes widened. "I'd do anything!"
I bring a finger to my cheek and look to the side; pretending to sound convinced. "Anything...?"
"Anything, Carrots! Whatever you want." He had his hands clasped together in a desperate manner. He seemed to have a second of doubt, but pleaded all the same. I'm having way too much fun with this.
