~ Nick's POV ~

"To my surprise, my neighbours gave me a proper send off when I finished packing my things and shut the door to my apartment for the last time! Well, by sending me off I mean poking both of their heads out of their door and giving me a timid, wave goodbye. But it did warm my heart nevertheless... Maybe they actually will miss me!" Judy says, taking a handful of all of her stuffed bunnies and throwing them on her side of the bed.

I scrunch up my snout, remembering the disruption they caused. "Yeah, a part of me thinks that they were oblivious to the fact we can actually hear them..."

"Oh trust me, they knew they're heard." She replies.

It only took a total of two days for Judy to completely move from her squat to mine. She's now emptying her last box. I eye her cluster of cuddly toys, increasingly multiplying as they take up more room. From observing, I cringe a little with a paw to my snout. "Uh, Carrots? You do know we're sharing the bed, right?"

"Oh! So sorry. They were mostly there to help me cope from feeling home sick during the time." She explains. "I guess I can sacrifice one...or two..."

"Or ten?"

"Haha, fine."

I give a quick look at my digital clock. "Listen... I've planned to meet up with an old pal at the bar and it's about time I get going."

"Now?" She asks.

"Well if I want to make it in time, yes. And I do. He hates waiting."

She looks lost, slowly eyeing her new surroundings as she uncertainly turns her head left and right, in a way that I'm leaving her alone in an unknown world where she hasn't adapted into yet.

"Hey, relax! You've got the whole place to yourself." I reassure, grabbing a jacket and walking into the living room. She follows behind me silently. "There's food in the fridge if you get hungry." I state, pointing to the kitchen. "Well, leftovers. Actually I think they've all gone bad... But there are some mustard left, a bag of nuts and a pack of gum; get creative! I'll be gone for about two hours or so." I turn the handle of my door and open it.

"Okay..." Judy states. She stands in the middle of the room, still looking like she feels out of place. Then her posture changes. "Actually, I think I know exactly what to do to keep myself busy until you come back!" Judy exclaims suddenly.

"Atta girl! So, make yourself at home, what's mine is yours, mi casa es su casa," I ramble, looking down at my watch and seeing the moving clock arms indicating that I'm becoming more and more late.

"Bye!" She waves. I shut the door behind me and rush out of my apartment, knowing that I don't need to lock it this time.

I'm sure she'll be fine.

"Well well well, look who's finally decided to show up!"

"No need to hide your excitement Bryce," I reply, holding my paws up as I stride into the bar. "I know you missed me."

I took an empty seat next to him after struggling to get through all of the scuffle. Then I see the half drank pint of beer he's holding.

"Aw, you already started drinking without me?" I say, acting hurt. I slap my arm down onto the counter and wave my other one to get attention. "Bartender! Over here."

Bryson chuffs. "I have no other choice but to start drinking before you show up. It gives my brain a chance to soften up first so I'll be able to mentally cope with being in your company."
