~Judy's POV~
I wake up to the sound of a gas machine turning on and daylight flooding in. My eyes slowly open as little slits and all I see are blurry shapes. I sense my surroundings being unfamiliar and I instantly feel like my back is in need of a good click. Why do I feel as if I've slept on a couch?
I think about how I need to start waking up, otherwise I'd be late for work. I rub my eyes and groan. My eyelids were so heavy that I allowed them to stay shut when getting up. With a heave, I force myself to get up from my bed. When I attempt to re-open my eyes, I suddenly get caught off guard when my vision adjusts to see a TV and a black table placed in front of me... All things that do not belong in my room. My brain fails to commute and I scratch my head in confusion. Before I could work it out though, my thoughts get heavily interrupted with loud snoring.
I flinch and whirl round to see Nick behind me sprawled across a couch. My eyes were definately open now. His mouth was slightly open which revealed some of his sharp teeth. I realise that he was on the couch I just stood up from... The couch I just slept in... Next to Nick...
I fell asleep with Nick.
Shivers go up my spine and I notice the tips of my ears starting to burn. Everything is coming back to me now. He slowly tosses and turns. All I do is stand over him awkwardly, feeling out of place. Then thinking how I should wake him up.
"No..." He murmurs in his sleep. "I want the blanket."
I let out a snort and clasp my hands over my mouth to stop myself from spluttering with laughter. I start to hear him whimper and pout, with one of his leg twitching. Both of his paws were also raised together in a pleading motive.
"What am I going to do with you..." I mumble under my breath, smiling to myself. My hands were placed on my hips and I shook my head with glee. I suddenly feel as fresh as a daisy, even though sleeping cramped up on a small couch all night would give an opposite effect in the morning.
"Come on Nick," I say, scratching underneath his muzzle. "Time to wake up sleepyhead."
He stirs and smiles but his eyes stay closed shut. He bobs his head up expectantly though, as if wanting more. I feel flattered and encouraged, so I give in to his pleads. I end up scratching his furry neck and jaw too, making him murmur more distinctively in pleasure. His leg-twitching develops and I can tell he's enjoying this more than I am... Why is this turning me on?
I soon see that this is giving no effect in waking him up. I stand back up and make a loud sigh, also rubbing down the furs that had spiked up on my arms. Damn, he's one heavy sleeper.
I slouch back down on the couch, perching on the empty space next to him and look at the candle placed on the table that I was facing. The flame had obviously died a long time ago. I think back to the last thing I remembered from last night, which was being in his arms. I felt so at home when I snuggled up in his warmth and smelt his scent, like it was the perfect place to be in. But how was I able to suddenly fall asleep? And all night? I pick up his phone to check the time.
Sweet cheese and crackers.
"NICK, WAKE UP WE'RE ALREADY LATE!" I yank his arm as hard as I could with great effort. My adrenaline got the best of me and my strength resulted on him being pulled straight out of the couch and he landed with a big thud on the wooden floor. I instantly feel bad as he groans and scratches his, presumably bruised, head. But at least he's awake now.
"Wha...what...happened?" He groans some more as he slowly rubs his eye.
I watch him blink at the first sight of my big feet put in front of him and look back up to see the guilty look I had on my face, looking down at him. His eyes widen and I give him a nervous smile, waggling my fingers at his shocked expression.
