Demi's POV

"Why?"

--

"Demi, Dallas was in a car accident. She was under the influence. We just find out about the cuts on her wrist." My mother finished. Both my parents had tears in their eyes, I knew I did as well when Stephanie was by my side cleaning them away. I held her hand as my mother continued. "It's my fault!" That had everyone looking at her. My dad tried to comfort her but she pushed him away. "It's my fault! I knew something was wrong, I would ask and all she did was say she was fine. I knew she wasn't and I didn't push it!"

"Mom mom, hey, it's okay."

"No it's not! As a mother I should always know when something is wrong with my kids."

"That's the thing mom, you'll never really know how any of us are feeling. It's the same way we don't know what your feelings and thoughts are. Everyone feels their own pain."

I let go of Stephanie's hand to place my arms around my mother tightly.

"Mom it isn't your fault. We all love you. You do enough for us as it is. You can't control everything mom something's happen without knowing."

I felt her cry on my shoulder. I knew to let her be, and not to make it rest.

I looked back at Dallas, "She's asleep Demi. The doctor gave her some strong pills to help her ease the pain enough when waking up." I nodded and watched as Stephanie moved in closer to Dallas. She took Dallas hand in hers before kissing the top of it.

I smiled at my fiancée sweet jester, I couldn't believe she was actually here. She flew here just to be with me instead of being at home with everyone else. She chose me.

She looked up and meet my eyes, she gave me her signature smile before moving over back to my father and embracing him in a hug. He hugged back tightly just before letting tears fall down as well. Stephanie rubbed his back in support while my mother giggled a little on my shoulder. I smiled, Stephanie gave me a wink. My father cries got louder in while Stephanie made a funny face causing me to laugh out loud.

"It's good to see everyone so happy while I almost died" we all heard a raspy voice say.

The whole mood in the room lifted, everyone had a smile on their face, Dallas looked confused until she met Stephanie's eyes. A smile appeared on her face while her eyes held this glow almost like a spark in them.

"Baby! I missed you. Where's our son"

Did she just. Son!? WHAT SON!?!

Stephanie quickly faced me confused. I walked over to Dallas and took a seat on the bed next to her. Dallas eyes were still on my fiancées. Stephanie come over behind me while my parents were on the other side of bed.

"Babe why aren't you answering? Where's Jack" she said this time, we all noticed the tears starting to form under her eye. I turned to Stephanie and saw her give me a look I knew all to well. I nodded agreeing, it was probably the best thing to do now but later we both know it would come kick us back on the ass.

"I'm sorry, I'm just so overwhelmed. I'm so happy to see your doing okay. God you scared me shit less dal" I watched my fiancée hug my sister deeply. I felt my heart break when I saw Dallas move in to kiss her lips, she move just in time to cause Dallas lips land on her cheek not her lips. Stephanie sent me a apologizing smile in which I only nodded.

"Babe what's wrong? Did I do something wrong? I smell don't I" Dallas cried out. Stephanie quickly shook her head but Dallas didn't respond. "THEN WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO KISS YOUR WIFE!?" Both my parents and I looked at Stephanie with concern, Stephanie was looking at Dallas the whole time. I couldn't figure what was going on in Stephanie head, I just hoped that whatever it was Dallas wouldn't be triggering.
