Kenna's POV
I waited in my room, pacing.
Castiel sat on my bed, watching me contemplate my next move.
I wondered what would come of this.
Are they going to kick me out?
Kill me?
"Watching you pace is annoying."
Cas stated in a groggy voice.
"I can't help it. I'm nervous. Cas, I need it off, just in case I need to run."
He nodded and said a few words of enochian.
The bracelet snapped open and fell to the ground.
I picked it up and put it away.
Just as I closed the drawer, Dean kicked in the door of my room.
Castiel stands up, ready to help someone, I didn't really know who he was going to be helping if it came down to it.
"Show me."
He said quietly.
"W-what?"
I stuttered.
He looked at me angrily.
"Come with me. Show me what you can do."
I nodded and followed him out of the door.
Cas was behind us, keeping a hand on my shoulder.
Dean led me up the stairs and to the main entrance of the bunker.
"What do you want me to show you?"
He pointed at the doors.
"Those are engraved with sigils that make this place a fortress. I want you to show me them. Make them visible."
I looked at him in shock.
"But...I'd be using my abilities for selfishness."
He walked up so close to me that our noses practically touched.
"Do it or I'll kick you out."
He seethed, sending a shiver from the tone.
I took a step back and took in a deep breath.
My chest rattled with fear.
I held up my palm and closed my eyes, focusing.
"Qui dæmonia habuerant signa custodient revelare."
I chanted.
A pain struck my chest and I cried out in agony.
But, I kept my stance.
I could feel cold wind blowing against me.
The pain grew stronger.
I opened my eyes to see the wardings were glowing an amazing bright blue.
I smiled and laughed at how beautiful they looked, it sent a rush of energy through me, and I lifted off of the ground.
Suddenly I felt lightheaded.
I dropped to my knees and elbows, panting.
Someone helped me sit up.
I looked up at Sam, and something began to ooze out of my nose and ears.
I went to touch it but he picked me up before I could and took me inside.
I realized then, that I couldn't hear anything.
I could see Sam mouthing an argument with Dean while Castiel watched.
Sam laid me on my bed and shut the broken door.
He leaned over me and hugged me.
I groaned in pain, but hugged him back.
It was nice to feel his affection, or really any affection right then.
I felt something begin to creep up my throat and ran into the bathroom, and then I proceeded to painfully throw up into the toilet.
It was blood.
A lot of blood.
"Jesus."
I muttered loudly.
I could hear again, finally.
After brushing my teeth and tying my hair up, I walked back to Sam who was sitting in my bed practically in tears.
"Hey, buddy...it's okay. I'm gonna be okay."
I said trying to reassure him.
He looked up at me, a look of failure.
I sat next to him and wrapped my arms around his torso.
"I'm so sorry, Kenna. I had one job and I already recked it. You didn't deserve that-"
I could hear his voice cracking.
"Do I look dead to you? You're doing great. That bracelet Castiel gave me must have been draining me. It's no big deal, dad."
He grasped me tightly and kissed my forehead.
"Maybe you should take a break from the harder spells. Just for a little."
He said once he pulled away.
I chuckled.
"Ya think?"
He laughed and smiled at me.
I brushed away his remaining tears with my thumbs.
"I have to admit. What you did out there was pretty bad ass."
I raised my eyebrow mischievously.
Almost cockily.
"Really?"
He nodded with confidence.
"The entire bunker was shaking. When I got out there you were elevated off the ground with your eyes glowing green. It was insane."
My face didn't match his excitement.
"Don't ever let me get like that again. I was completely abusing my powers. If you see me start to go...dark. You know what you have do, right?"
His smile dropped.
"What?"
He asked placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Sam. If I ever go dark. You're gonna have to put a witch killing bullet in my skull."
He looked incredibly conflicted.
Knowing that I was was right, but refusing the fact that it was true.
He would have to put me down.
It's almost more likely than not.
With my amazing genes and all.
I don't want to snap.
-
Sam had his hand on my lower back as he led me down the hallway.
Jumping every time I missed a step.
Finally we were in the library.
He handed me the book I was working on and left to let me study in peace.
"Kenna. I'm sorry about what happened. What I made you do..."
I looked up from my book.
"I forgive you, Dean."
He gave me a relieved, but muddled expression.
"What? Really?"
I nodded gingerly.
I couldn't let myself get angry with him.
That would only make things worse.
"I was just a little bit drained from the magical damper Cas put on me."
Dean looked at me, perplexed.
"Wait wh-"
"You weren't the only one that was unsure of my intentions, Dean."
He walked up to where I was sitting and pulled up a chair besides me.
I noticed that he had something tightly clutched in his hand.
He gestured toward my arm where there was a couple of cuts from when I fell on the ground.
"Can I?"
He asked softly as he opened up his had, revealing three little bandaids.
"Yeah..."
I whispered.
He took his time covering them up.
Paying attention so that they covered them evenly.
"Thanks."
He looked up at me.
"Yeah. Don't uh mention it."
He stammered awkwardly.
I sighed and pulled us chest to chest.
He was warm and quick to hug me back.
It was then that I thought of my father, of Castiel, and of Dean as a whole.
As a family.
