Dean's POV
"Just breathe."
That's all they'd say.
"Just breathe, sir."
Just breathe, as if I didn't kill my niece.
The hospital hallways were closing around me, and I was scared.
Deadly terrified of myself.
Sam wouldn't even look at me.
He didn't dare, and I was thankful he didn't.
I knew that if he took a one look at me he'd go into kill mode.
He sat in a chair down the hallway twiddling his fingers and rocking nervously.
I looked at the nurse across the desk from me and wondered how long she could hold her breath.
"What the fuck do you mean 'just breathe'? My 15 year old niece got hit by a damn semi, and I need to know if she is even alive."
She tap-tap-tapped away on her computer, barely acknowledging me.
"Mmhmm I understand, sir, but unfortunately your child was immediately rushed into surgery. Since she has no previous record in this state, her status is obsolete to me until further notice from a doctor."
I fisted my hair in frustration.
The nurse looked at me like I was crazy.
"Oh get fucked."
I murmured pulling my phone out of my jacket.
I walked away as I dialed Garth's number.
"Howdy Deano!"
Garth exclaimed through the phone.
"Hi Garth. I have a favor to ask you..."
I said slowly.
"Anything for one of my best pals! What's going on, muchacho? You sound sad."
I rubbed my hand across my face.
"Sam, Kenna, and I were on our way to work a shifter job to save Jody and Claire, and uh, something happened to Kenny."
I paused for Garth to retort.
"What kind of something?"
He asked with concern in his tone.
"A bad something, Garth, and I need you to get someone on the case for me."
Garth gasped.
"Absolutely not. This is family business. I will handle this myself, bro."
I mentally groaned knowing that this likely wasn't going to go well.
"Fine...Fine, just don't Garth this one up man. It's Claire and Jody I want them both back in one piece."
Garth squealed.
"Okay can do, Dean. I won't let you down. Text me the details."
With that he hung up on me.
"Well great."
I turned around and saw that a doctor was talking to Sam.
I ran over to listen to their conversation.
"We can only pray for her at this point..."
That was all I caught.
Sam sunk back into his chair and buried his face in his hands as he cried.
His sobs were so powerful that his body shook the chair it was in.
I could only stand there as I watched this painful breakdown.
"Sammy..."
I whispered taking a seat next to him and grabbing his shoulder.
"What did he say?"
He looked at me trying to find words.
"She's...she's not responsive."
He whispered before sobbing again.
I was shocked, but filled with anger.
Why did she have to run into the street?
Why did we let her?
"Jesus."
I said burying my face in my hands.

Kenna's POV
I ran down aisle after aisle filled with doctors and patients, but nobody spared me a glance.
Surprising since I was almost fully naked other than this hospital gown.
I screamed for them to hear me.
I got in people's faces, I shouted and spit, but no one saw me.
Then I found them.
My boys.
Both in tears and shaking with nerve.
I screamed their names until my throat burned, and it was no use.
I sat down in front of them and cradled myself as I wept.
"What the hell, Kenna? Why are you dead?"
I looked up to see Castiel standing in front of me and the world pausing in time.
I scrambled to my feet and grabbed him by the shoulders.
"Dead? I can't be dead. That's not even possible. I had a spell-"
He rolled his ocean eyes with a sigh.
"You don't happen to mean the spell that I removed during the wall process?"
My jaw dropped.
"For fucks sake, Cas."
I mumbled in frustration.
I slapped the sides of my face and shook myself back together.
"Uh Okay...Okay...okay what can we do?"
I asked Castiel impatiently as I began to pace.
"I might be able to revive you, but I haven't tried yet...Actually now that I think about it, you are in the veil, which means you aren't quite dead yet."
I gasp and stopped in my tracks.
"Which means I'm in the process of being reaped. How the hell am I supposed to get back into my body, Cas?"
He takes a moment to respond.
"Follow me."
He says and I obey.
Cas takes me down a few hallways until we wander upon a sector cut off from the rest of the normal hospital.
It looked incredibly sterile but in a frightening way.
He takes me down four doors and we walk into a room where my soon to be corpse was attached to all sorts of machines.
"Why is my body in here?"
He walks up to my body and looks sadly upon my face.
"It looks like they're waiting for you to die, but you may be able to prevent that. You're a witch Kenna."
He pauses and I nodded in response.
"Right. You took a particular interest in helping cure diseases and healing wounds. Is there anyone that you know that can put this,"
He puts a finger on my chest, where my heart is.
"back into that?"
He gestured at my robo-corpse.
Realization settled in and I groaned loudly.
"I used to know someone that could. Her name was Lydia Abernathy and she was one of the most talented witches I'd ever met. Sadly, she's dead, but she has a twin brother, Greyson, he might be able to help. I know he kept studying the journals she left.
The chances are slim, but maybe he learned a few things from them."
Castiel gave me a strange look.
"Okay. Where can I find him?"
I squinted at him.
"Cas, seriously? Angels used to spy on us, you know where I lived."
He squinted his eyes at me.
"Yeah you're right. I was trying to be respectful. I should be back soon. Don't...die."
I nodded and sat down in a hard metal chair.
"I'll try my best, blue eyes."
