Kalee's POV

He had been looking at her all day and I had no clue why. Who was she? I didn't even know her name but they had been both staring at each other the whole day and believe me I was really starting to notice, and get jealous. I sighed at Zach as watched them daze of into to each other for another whole minute for what seems the millionth time this period. I looked over at the lunch table where she was sitting across the room, I probably wasn't the only one that was feeling rejected. I saw a boy all I knew was his name was jughead but I had seen the two around talking a bit. Now he was just staring at the table in front of him. I felt back, he didn't seem to be taking this too well. Jug looked up from the table, we made eye contact and I knew we were both thinking and wondering the same thing. What were they doing. If he was as observant as I was he would have noticed that they had been doing it all day, the halls, classes, you name it, they were staring. I just couldn't seem to figure it out. 

"Zack?" I asked his attention went back to me for a moment then straight back to her. 

"Hold on I'll be right back." He said I sighed knowing exactly what he was about to do as I watched both him and the girl get up, I looked back over at Jughead he wasn't looking down or at me. He was watching them or more specifically her watching her walk away my heart sank. 

It wasn't what I thought.

I looked down at the lunch table just as Jughead was before and probably now but I couldn't be sure because I didn't want t look up. I glanced to my side seeing that Zach had left his food here which meant he would have to at least come back to say goodbye to me, right? 

"Alright." I said back softly knowing that Zach wouldn't be able to hear me. I put my head in my hand and shook my head. Why did I even begin to think that a new guy one that actually looked like that would like me? I knew that tonight I was really going to get beat down after this. It was probably all I was going to think about within the next couple of days. 

Time Skip ; after school.

I sat on my bed looking up at my ceiling just wanting to either die or fall asleep but I knew I wasn't nearly tired enough to do so. I sat up grabbing my phone of my dresser and going to my messages then to Zach. I realized if I wanted to keep something I would at least have to try to do something about it. 

'Hey'

I texted him hoping that he would reply and thankfully he did.

'Hey, wassup?'

I was thinking did you want to come over maybe, I'm bored and home alone?' 

I replied pulling the home alone card like I had many times before I crossed my fingers as I heard my phone vibrate, I hoped it would be a yes. 

'What would we do, I mean there's no project to worry over anymore?' 

I sighed it sounded like he didn't want to. 

'I was just thinking we could just hang out like normal people.' 

This time I crossed both of my fingers, it took Zach a little longer than usual to reply I just assumed he was trying to make the best text explaining why he was taken with that new girl. Then my phone went off into any I grabbed it seeing the notification.

'Sure, I'll leave right now."

I almost screamed out yes as I saw the response he wasnt friend breaking up with me after all maybe I could even ask him about the whole lunch and thing today if I got the guts. 

'Alright I'll see ya then, drive safe.' 

I jumped out of bed suddenly feeling the whole world's weight fall off of my shoulders. I sighed in relief and then laughed at myself over how happy I was getting.  Now I just had to wait.

Once again the driveway lit up and then Zach's car was parked in my driveway. I smiled as he got out of the car. 

"Hi!" I said happily running over to him out of impulse I hugged him. As I realized what I had just done I went to pull away but I then I realized that Zach had his arms around me too. I smiled to myself in his shoulder. I decided I didn't want to have to be the one to get pulled away from so I pulled away myself. Zach laughed. 

"Did you miss me?"

"A lot."
