The Painful Truth

( Haylee's part )

" Haylee Run! "
I struggle to see her my head pounding, my legs too shakey to stand. Blurs flash before my eyes and suddenly his face appears. Tyler walking me outside, hitting me over the head. Tyler was Max's killer, after so long of wanting justice he was there the whole time. My best friend.... betrayed me.... The black spots start to fade... Lacey is in trouble now. He holds her against the car his fist held back. She stares at me with a look of sharp fear I reach out as much as I can my head spinning.
" Lacey! No Tyler no!"
" Haylee!"

My scream lodges in my throat. Numb from his fingers that latch around it tightly. He drags me down under that bridge. The same place he killed Max he's going to kill me the same why. Tears stream down my face the force of it all hitting me a greater fear than I have ever had before takes over me. I was going to die.
" This wouldn't of had to be so difficult you know! If you would have just choose me for once, but oh no you were to blind weren't you Haylee?"
He throws me down to the ground my body tumbles off the rocks. I land hard on my back sharp pains stab my ribs making it harder to breath. I try to stand to fight back but he grabs me by the hair and yanks me towards him. I cry out his hands press into my throat silencing me again.
" You were just too stupid I loved you but you couldn't see that. Insteade you chose him over me!"
His fist slams into my cheek forcing my body back down I choke out a whimper. My face crawling with a burning sensation. This is what it was like, this is what Max went through. My mind is trapped between the dark curling up afraid. Max under this same bridge getting every hit, every spark of numbing pain. His quieted screams being held against him. Tyler lifts me up and throws me into the water. The rush of the cold pulses my blood making the pain stronger I cry out, Max's body laying face down his body blue his body bruised, broken. Just like me. Tyler's voice getting louder with each punch. Max fighting back pushing away from him. I push and pull hitting him as hard as I can I had to get away I had too. Taken back by suprise he jumps back I make a run for it. The pain is strong my legs collapse. Max not having the strength to stand the stength to fight back. I couldn't give up I still had my strength to fight back. Tyler grabs me I kick him hard knocking him down. He gets back up quickly but I continue to hit him. I finally jump back up on my feet adrenaline hitting me. I hit him in his stomach which brings him down on his back. I stand above him and see the gun in his pocket. Max laying on the ground as Tyler pulls the trigger. A startled cry comes out as I stare at the images in my head. I quickly reach for the gun and point it at him. Tyler stares up at me . Now I was the one with the gun, the man who killed the man I use to love. Now he was the weak one.
" You killed him you killed him just the way you were going to with me!"
" He got in the way you needed to learn."
" Shut up I trusted you! Your fucking insane. This whole time it was you."
" You never had a clue huh Haylee?"
" I said shut up!"
" Nobody expected Tyler Granger, the sweet boy that was Haylee's best friend. Oh I had everyone fooled."
" Not anymore now everyone is gonna know."
" That's where you're wrong Haylee."
" Oh really what makes you think that?"
A flash of headlights reflect off of the ground my heart tightens. It was Austin it had to be he was here to save me.
" I'm not the only precious friend you'll be putting in jail Haylee."
My breath catches in my throat my heart racing. A smile curls onto his face his eyes holding no secrets.
" No I don't believe you."
" Oh you better believe it we both know I didn't work alone. There was one other person there always was."
I gasp the adrenaline vanishing making me feel weak once again. The pain now fresher than before. She- she couldn't have.
" Poor Lacey couldn't just keep her hands of him."
My hands begin to drop the gun slips from my hand. The darkness swarms me again Max being held against his way Tyler hitting him and Lacey holding the gun. She took the final blow. I fall to my knees everything crumbling all around me. Voices all around me.
" Haylee, haylee!"
" Haylee run!"
" Haylee get up you have to get up now!"
Austin and Max they were here. I look up and see Austin running towards me. Tears begin to slip down my face. Austin all I wanted was Austin. I force my shaky legs to move. I just wanted to go home.
" Austin!"
" Haylee look out!"
My hair is pulled again Tyler's hot breath pressed against my neck. A sharp sensation goes through my stomach. My body stops. The shaking, the tears, the fear it all pauses. I fall to my knees my strength completely gone. I reach my hand to rest up on my stomach a warmth bleds through my shirt. My fingers feel the wet substance red falshes before my eyes. The air begins to thicken. Voices scream inside my head but I can no longer here them as it all becomes a blur. I fall back stareing up into the sky. A face appears in fron of my face Austin. His brown eyes ,his brown hair his light freckles that barley show under his eyes. I take in every inch. His eyes full of tears I wish to reach up but I can no longer move my hands. I can only manage a whisper to past my lips.
" Austin don't cry baby."
His lips move but I don't here anything. A tear slids down the side of my face as I watch the man I love fall apart in front of me. The light starts to fade slowly I-I was dying. I feel a hand holding mine. I look up a pale face stares down at me. My heart shatters. I reach out to touch him. The light now nothing but a speck. His face stares at me his eyes sadden but so beautiful just like they use to be....Max.
" Haylee I love you don't leave me baby!"
" Austin."
