Legend of Zelda: Relics of Stone

Chapter 6 - Parasitic Dragon, Chuvai

Link and Anya dove separate directions as the parasitic dragon Chuvai opened its jaws, spraying a stream of acid at them. There are a loud sizzling sound as the acid absorbed into the stone, a few small cracks appearing in it. The bronze Hero looked up as the large green dragon roared, spreading its massive wings for a long moment before flying at them, its talons extended. Link rolled out of the way again as Anya hopped to the side, barely dodging its talons.

"Anya! When it goes to make that attack, attack its wings!" Link shouted, Chuvai giving another deafening roar. Anya nodded, then they both turned their gazes back to Chuvai. The massive dragon reared it's head back once more, another stream of acid came from the beast's mouth, the green burning substance aimed at them. Link and Anya leapt to the side to dodge the attack, once again a sizzling sound escaping from the stones as the acid absorbed into it and weakening the structure.

Link prepared for it to flare it's wings so they attack. However, much to their surprise, Chuvai flapped it's great wings and rose up into the air. It beat the air, creating powerful gusts of wind down at them. Link had no problem staying upright, but he saw that Anya was struggling to stand with the wind. The large green dragon stopped, lowering itself back near the roof of the temple, panting.

     "Anya, now!" Link said as he rushed forward, sword drawn. He aimed at one of the circles on the dragon's wings, savagely hacking away. Chuvai gave a pained screech as Link slashed at the circle on its wing, which seemed to be a big part of its flight. Anya joined in on the other wing as Link completely tore the circle in half, Chuvai giving a loud, pained shriek. Just as Anya tore one of the circles on the other wing, Chuvai flapped its injured wings and took into the air, green, acidic blood dripping onto the stone roof they stood on.

Link heard Anya yelp as some of the acidic blood dripped onto her skin, burning her. Chuvai roared as it circled around them on the roof they stood on, though its flight was slightly faltering as it flapped its damaged wings.

"Good job! Now we just have to do that a few more times, before it's down!" Link called to Anya.

"Got it!" She called back as she held her sword in front of her, following the path of the parasitic dragon with her eyes, Link doing the same. Chuvai eventually flapped up a bit higher, opening its jaws and spraying a stream of green acid at them, Link and Anya dodging the attack easily. The green dragon came to a hover, flaring its wings for a long moment once more, before flying forward, its talons aimed at them. The two Hylians ducked under the attack, Link quickly getting up and slashing his sword at one of the circular marks on Chuvai's wings, unfortunately missing its wing. It whirled around, flapping its wings as it rose high into the air once more.

Link saw Anya brace herself against the oncoming winds from the massive dragon's wings as the hurt dragon roared, creating powerful gusts of wind with its wings. This kept up for about a minute, before Chuvai tired and eventually came to rest on the roof, breathing heavily with acid leaking between its teeth, its forked tongue hanging out of its mouth. The bronze Hero gave a battle cry as he rushed at the dragon, slashing at one of the circular features on its wings, Anya right next to him this time.

Chuvai gave a pained shriek again as two more of the circular features shredded. It gave a howl of agony, struggling to get off the ground this time. Link took the time to slash open another one of the features on its wings, Anya halting before following his lead.

Anya and Link were blown back by an unseen force, away from the dragon. Chuvai screeched and shrieked loudly as it thrashed, Anya and Link grinning victoriously as they thought it was in its death throes. Chuvai hissed as it sprayed a steady stream of acid everywhere, though the stream wasn't powerful enough to hit Link and Anya. The acid absorbed into the stone and weakened it, enough so that the stone cracked and crumbled below it.
