Anya panted and huffed as she climbed up the hundreds of steps to the top of the mountain, out of breath. There were way too many steps in her opinion, so she was thankful when she reached the top of the mountain with Link. What she saw caused her to gasp in awe, her green eyes wide.
The two had walked in on an oasis of a sort, one that seemed like it could only be in paradise. A large, pink plum tree hung over a shallow lake, pink petals falling slowly and causing small ripples in the otherwise glass smooth water. Small plants grew along the waters edge, fireflies flitting about through the reeds, glowing faintly. She saw some movement behind the large plum tree, craning her neck to see what it was.
You have arrived...I am thankful and in debt to you two, the same whispery voice from before said. A faint blue glow appeared in the center of the small pond, Anya watching in curiosity and awe. The blue glow slowly took shape into what seemed to be the sleek, muscular form of a horse. Ripples formed in the water where its hooves would be as it seemed to take a step forward towards them. It fully solidified into a majestic, magical creature, Anya unable to help but stare at it.
It did indeed have the body shape of a horse, with four long legs and hooves, a graceful neck and sleek build. It's fur was a light blue color with light pink swirling designs in it that seemed to slowly pulse, almost like a heartbeat but much too slow to be one. Its fluffy tail and mane were a pure white in color and long, its tail dragging on the ground. It's mane resembled that of a wolf more than it did a horse, surrounding its entire neck in fluffy white fur. It had glowing golden colored hooves and two strange glowing horns on its head that reminded Anya of antennae or plant vines. Its face startled her the most, in which it actually had two faces. They were both owl like faces, with little tiny beaks and glowing golden eyes with no pupils.
"Who are you?" Anya asked it, still staring at it. It seemed to give a gentle chuckle.
Child, I am the guardian of this forest and this mountain. My name is Satori, your kind having named this mountain after me, the large horse like creature said calmly as it walked over to them, it hoof beats echoey.
"Satori, we have a few questions..." Link said, his bronze eyes curious as he looked at the Lord of the Mountain. It turned slightly towards him so its other face was looking at him, one face still looking Anya. The teen came to the conclusion that this thing was weird, however majestic it was.
Ask away, Hero. It is the least I can do to repay you, Satori said as its long fluffy tail swished slightly.
"First, what was that dragon doing there?" Link asked him.
That dragon was a parasitic species of dragon. It had stolen my power and claimed my domain as its own, turning the Satori Forest into a dark, evil place, Satori said, bowing its head low. Link nodded.
"Why was it made of Twilit magic? I thought the mirror was broken years ago," he said, Anya giving him a curious glance.
"Twilit magic? Mirror?" She asked him.
Twilit magic belongs to the people of the twilight realm. And yes, while the Mirror was broken long ago, they have found other ways to connect to this realm. An enemy from your past, long ago, had influenced the dragon and turned him into a minion of darkness, Satori explained to both of them.
"You mean...Zant?" Link asked, his voice wary. Satori nodded his head in answer.
"Who's Zant?" Anya asked, looking back at Link.
"Zant is an evil Twilit person, who usurped my friend Midna from her throne," Link said. "He worked for Ganondorf before Midna destroyed him," he continued, looking back at Satori. "How is he back?"
