Fourth part and third chapter of the fanfic! This chapter will be not for the the next mission but for the interactions between the characters, mainly (Y/n) and Amber. May also include a few other characters such as the two Captains (not much tho) so we can have a little bit of originality on this fanfic :v. Anyways, won't be covering the second mission so yeah.

Hail almighty disclaimers XD:

I do not, in anyway own For Honor and its contents. If I did, I would have put some historical figures such as to Joan of Arc to the story.

- Ademar's POV -

Gods, my right side hurts! Apparently, I may have underestimated Peltaris during our Trial of Combat back at the courtyard of Daubeny's fortress. I must admit, that was one of the best duels I took part on for a long time aside the times I sparred with Holden and/or (Y/n). When it comes to Cross, its very much understandable, he is like one of the best fighters I fought with. No wonder he is the second-in-command of the Legion we are on right now. When it comes to (Y/n), ehhhh... its understandable too, I guess?

I mean, I never seen a Warden who fought so aggressively while being so defensive. I am not sure, but it would appear as if he is using offense as defense especially during duels. Heh, I was the one who convinced him to be a Knight yet he is a better soldier than me. Eh, whatever. As long as we are friends.

Soon enough, I found myself on a cot back at our camp with the help of (Y/n)'s footmen and slowly, I doze off while the healers treat my wounds. Good luck with that though. They really hurt a lot so can just assume that they are that bad. ((A/n): No, there is no magic. Just an indication since 'doctors' would be an inappropriate term)

When I woke up, I felt like someone who had a hangover after night's worth of ale but I'm otherwise good. Weird. The last thing I remember on that duel, a longsword's blade stuck itself on my right shoulder. At that time, I came to the conclusion that I would be needing a few months of recover before I can return to combat, turns out that it won't be happening soon. Can't complain though.

Oh yeah, I just remembered: I lost. Huh. I'm probably going to be demoted now, and that Peltaris will be taking my place as Holden's second. Its always been like that with the Blackstone Legion commanders. If a second of theirs ever got killed especially in a Trial by Combat, he or she will be replaced by the one who defeated them. Seems my life as a second of the Legion's second-in-command is over. Hm... Hey! If I can get to the Lightshield Cohort, then problems solved! I'll have to request that to Cross, though I'm sure that he will let me do so, so it won't a problem. At least I can annoy (Y/n) even more, haha!

Footman: "Sir Ademar?" I hear someone call out to me from behind.

Me: "Yes?"

Footman: "Lord Cross has called for you in the meeting tent."

Me: "Very well. I'll be there soon."

The footman nods in understanding after out brief conversation. Oh well... here goes nothing. I then walk towards the tent the footman told me to go to.

- (Y/n)'s POV -

Cross: "After that fight, you have proven yourself to be more than worthy of the title of Warden. That being said, you have also defeated my second, a skilled swordsman. In that regard, YOU will be taking his place as my second." Holden tells Amber who is sitting beside me in the tent.
