- 5 years ago, before the events of Warlords and Cowards... -

Commander Hardrada: "... The militia of the city will also be on our side, along with Knights from the Regal Legion and of the Lightshield Cohort."

Lord Mandelson: "This our first, and last attempt to finally change things here, fellow Knights. We cannot fail!"

Lord Schlautmann: "Jawohl. For ze Darkrose Legion!"

Cheers erupted from a large meeting room in a building inside a smaller castle near the main city, the heart of the Darkrose.

For years, the Darkrose Council has been at odds with each other, with no clear winner in each argument. For years, they have been debating whether they should allow the Blackstone Legion induct the Darkroses to their ranks. For years, they have been bickering like children over a small pet stone.

Now, the time has come to end all of this once and for all, even if it means bloodshed must take place. There was, after all, a saying that "sacrificing even innocent lives is necessary for a greater good." Even though it pains them that they will have to fight side by side with their own people not really trained for war and are likely to die in great numbers, it would pave the way for a more peaceful life for the inhabitants of Ashfeld.

There are two opposing Darkrose Factions: the first is known as the so-called Darkrose United Front, supporters of the idea of the Legion being added to bolster Apollyon's rank. It is led by three of the Council members, all of whom have considerable amount of soldiers under their command.

The other faction, is more of a splinter group of Knights opposing the idea of Blackstone induction. They are known as the True Roses. It is led by five Council members with two from outside factions, with the House of Peltaris at the forefront of the leadership. They have lesser numbers, but they have the support of the citizens of Darkrose, of the Lightshield Cohort and of the Regal Legion, albeit covertly on the latter.

Lord Peltaris: "Let us get ready then. Our finest hour has come! Order to the Darkrose!"

- An hour later... -

True Rose Captain: "The division from the Regal Legion are ready for any orders that you may give them. They will be with us for the duration of the uprising."

Lord Peltaris: "Excellent. Remind me to thank Lord Silverland once things have settled."

???: "Father!" A younger version of Amber runs up to her father while wearing Warden trainee outfit.

Lord Peltaris: "Ah, Amber! Captain, we'll talk about this later."

True Rose Captain: "There's nothing else to talk about, sir, but I understand. I shall take my leave then." The Captain says before leaving the father and his daughter alone in the middle of the field where preparations for war are taking place.

Amber: "Father, I'll fight with you."

Lord Peltaris: "No, Amber. You must not see what may happen soon, and I cannot lose my beloved daughter, alright?" He says to her as he holds both of her gauntleted hands. "Besides, we still are not done with your training. You still have a long way to go."

Amber: "But I can fight!"

Lord Peltaris: "I know that, but you are still far from ready to take on fully-trained Knights."
