Chapter 4: Love At First Sight

Lizzie's POV
We arrived at Math class with seconds to spare. We quickly piled into 4 seats at the front of the classroom. Ding! The bell rang, and torturous school began. Stacy and Bee both took notes, but me and Tiffy didn't need to have notes. While Mr. Millers was giving a math example, 3 boys appeared through the doorway. "10 minutes late, Mr. Red. And Mr. Will. What's the excuse to start off the year being late?" Groaned Mr. Millers in annoyance. "I'm so sorry Mr. Millers. It won't happen again." Replied one with curly brown hair, and he wore a dark green sweater. I realized I had never seen him before, I suspected he was new. "You must be the new student who transferred here, correct?" Asked Mr. Millers, staring closely to the boy. "Yes, I'm Joel." Said Joel, and gave a flashing smile to Mr. Millers. Mr. Millers had completely changed his mood, and welcomed the boys with a grin. Joel, Red, and Will took seats behind me and the girls. As Math Class resumed, I couldn't stop thinking about Joel. He was like a cute nerd, but not crazy nerdy. I daydreamed off about him, and wondered if he would notice me. "Lizzie? Lizzie!!" I snapped out of my mind, hearing the bell, and glanced forward to see Bee and Stacy staring at me. "S-sorry..." I mumbled, and packed up my papers in my binder. Then, we all split up to different subjects. Before Lunch, I had Woodworking without my friends. I entered, and saw Joel sitting alone at a desk. I took a deep breath, and sat next to him. "Hey, I'm Lizzie." I said quietly, I was known for being a bit shy, but I don't feel shy around my friends. "Sup, I'm Joel. Nice hair." Replied Joel, and I saw a tiny light pink shade around his cheeks. We were chosen together for a woodworking project, and while we worked, we got to know each other. "So what do u wanna carve?" Asked Joel, and reached for the gauche. The exact same time I reached the gauche. Our hands touched, and his hands felt soft and smooth. I shot back, and blushed. "Um..Do you like gaming?" I blurted out, and fiddled with my hands in my lap. "Yeah, I love gaming! I do a lot of Call of duty and Minecraft." He said, and broke into a wide grin. "Me too." I answered. We agreed on carving a set of headphones, and we got to work. We started one side together, and then, I cut myself on the rough wood. I flinched at the pain, and Joel immediately noticed. "Are you ok?" He asked, and gently grabbed my hand and pulled it over to him. The cut starting bleeding, and I looked into his eyes. "Y-yeah...I'm fine. It just hurts a bit." I answered, and blood continued to flow down. He placed my hand on the wooden desk that we were working on. He quickly rushed over to the teacher's desk, and a bandage appeared in his hands. (Magic! Jk) He removed the covering, and stuck it on my cut. "Better?" Joel asked, and I nodded in return. We continued, until the bell rang. "That was fun." I said, as we walked out of the class together. "Yeah." He replied, and continued. "I'm looking forward to Wednesday with another class with you Lizz!" He broke into a grin, and we both parted our ways, waving. I met Stacy and the other girls at the cafeteria. I was still in awe of Joel, and got some chicken soup and a apple. "Lizzie?! Lizz!" Tiffy waved her hands in front of me as we sat down at a empty table. "Oh. Sorry." I snapped out of my thoughts and took a bite out of my apple. "You ok? You seem out of it today.." asked Stacy, with a worried look on her face. The other nodded, and I wasn't sure if I should tell them. "Actually," I began, "I sorta like this one guy that I met at Woodworking.." I whispered, and looked around to see if anyone else was listening. "Ooooo!" The girls chanted in unison. "Who?" Bee whispered. "Joel." I finished, and they mischievously grinned in my direction. "Hey Lizzie!" I turned around and saw Joel waving towards me. I smiled and waved back, silently blushing in my mind. Red and Will followed Joel over to our table. "By the way, This is Red and Will." Joel pointed towards his over two friends. Will was wearing a red hoodie and Red was wearing a black jacket. "Mind if we sit here?" Asked Red, and before I could answer, Tiffy immediately answered. "Sure!" She gave a sweet smile towards Red, and quickly gave me a grin. Bee was sitting on my right, and Joel sat on my left. Red sat close to Tiff, and Will sat beside Stacy. For the rest of Lunch, we talked about Minecraft, and a new friendship between all of us sprung. After Lunch, I finished Science with the girls, and Foods with Will and Red. After the day, we trotted off to our apartment, while all of us had busy thoughts.
