YOUR POV
Your heart raced, the drive to the airport was nothing but nerve wrecking. You had told Devin that you were going home to see your family, which was sort of a lie. You planned on seeing them but first you need to see Kyle. You didn't know what was going to happen. So many different scenarios played through your mind, both good and bad. You just hoped nothing would get out of hand. Devin had offered to go with you to Michigan but you insisted that you needed you to go alone. You had gotten to the airport about two hours early, you needed to get everything settled before you were able to board your flight."Now boarding for flight number 438" a woman's voice came over in the intercom as you passed through the entrance to your gate. Taking a deep breath you sat down in your seat, which lucky and unlucky for you was the aisle seat. A sweet looking elderly couple took the two open seats next to you. The old woman smiled at you, her white curly hair falling in her face a bit. The pilot of the plane came on over the intercom, "passengers, we are about to take off. Please fasten your seat belts and turn off all electronics, thank you for your corporation and enjoy the ride". You closed your eyes as the plane took off, you were never really a big fan off planes.
"Are you okay dear?" A voice came from beside you, you cracked your eyes open to see the kind eyes of the woman sitting next to you. "I'm fine. I just hate flying" you explained. "That must explain why you're holding onto your seat so tightly" she said looking down at your hands. You hadn't even realized that you were death gripping the seat handles. You unhinged your hands and folded them in your lap taking a deep breath. "Everything's going to be just fine" you thought.

"Attention passengers, the plane is about to land. Please fasten your seat belts" the pilot once again came on over the intercom. Your seat belt was already fastened as you were asleep for most of the ride. The place landed without a problem and soon people were gathering their carry on bags and filing out of the plane. You got your luggage and made your way to taxi driver that was waiting for you outside. As you stepped in to a yellow car, the driver looked back at you with a smile. "Hello miss, where to?" He asked. You told him the address and he nodded starting the car and leaving the airport. The ride to your exes house was long and agonizing. Every scenario that you had thought of from the previous days played through your head more. You were so stuck in them that you hadn't realized that your driver had pulled up in front of your old apartment building. "Miss, we've arrived" your driver said. You blinked a few times before paying the man and stepping out of the small yellow car. He drove away and left you to admire the old faded memory. Rain lightly sprinkled on the ground as you pick up your bags and made your way to the tall building.
You walked in, sneakers squeaking on the cold marbled floor. The desk clerk smiled at you as you walked passed her to the elevator. Pushing the button to the fourth floor, the door opened and your heart began to race. Thumping in your ears as you walked past the doors of your old neighbors.
You didn't tell Kyle that you were coming, you had simply said okay to his text message. He had no idea that it would you the at was standing on your doorstep. As you knocked your hands shook, a voice yelled out from the other side of the door "coming!" His footsteps got closer. The door knob started jiggle, this was it there was no turning back now. The door opened and revealing Kyle, he stood motionless staring at you with shock on his face. He didn't say anything just stood there, dark purple rings were underneath his eyes. His hair was a mess, his clothes loose and lazy. You had only seen him like this when he was sick.
"Can I come in?" You asked in a soft voice. He nodded opening door more allowing you to step inside. He shut the door behind you, and turned to face you. "Hi" you said setting your bags down in the floor "hi..." he replied. There was a thickness in the air, an awkwardness that just sort of loomed. "Um do you wanna sit on the couch?" He asked looking past you. You nodded and walked around the side of the couch sitting at the end. You couldn't get over how awkward it was, you didn't make eye contact with Kyle. It was like you couldn't look at him without seeing a faded painful memory of the past.
"So I know that I fucked up. Well I did more than that, I hurt you. Physically emotionally and mentally and I know I can't make up for it now but I am sorry" he started. Every emotion that you had buried deep inside your mind was about to be unleashed. You didn't come here to fight with him but you also didn't come to be nice. "You're sorry?! YOU'RE SORRY?! Do you have ANY idea of what four almost FIVE years of abuse does to someone?! When I first met you I couldn't believe you were real. An attractive man like you interested in someone like me? I knew it was too good to be true and I was unfortunately right.
"You had me thinking that I wasn't good enough for you or anyone. Hell I can't even kiss my boyfriend let alone have sex with him without thinking about the abuse you put me through. You made me so afraid to leave that my paralyzing fear for you made me stay. I loved you SO much and you took it and threw it back into my face. I LOVED YOU AND I STILL DO KYLE BUT YOU HURT ME. YOU REALLY DID" you screamed. Tears streamed down your face as you looked into his eyes. He sat there staring down at floor not knowing what to say. "Are you gonna say anything?" You asked him, he continued to look down at the floor. "Well?" You pressed.
"What do you want me to say (y/n)?" He asked. "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?! you don't want to hear me say I'm sorry! So what is that you want? I asked you to come here because I missed you. I missed the girl who I feel in love with" he said. "That still doesn't make up for what you did Kyle! You left me to bleed out in the dark ON THE STREET ALONE!" Tears continued to steam down your face. "YOU HURT ME OVER AND OVER AGAIN YET I STILL WANT YOU BACK. I STILL LOVE YOU EVEN WHEN I DON'T WANT TO" you screamed. The whole apartment was dead silent neither of you said one more word. You just stared at each other, panting from the screaming match you had just had.
"I-" you were cut off by Kyle who pressed his lips against yours. Your body frozen you didn't want to push him away but you also didn't want to kiss him and betray Devin. As it continued you relaxed more and soon you were melting in his arms. Your fingers ran through his messy hair as you continued to kiss. His lips moved to your neck causing you to gasp and bite you lip. Everything you had previously said was gone, you forgot about Devin as you wrapped your legs around Kyle's waist. He picked you up and took you to your old bedroom. Every one of your thoughts was focused on getting Kyle out of the shirt he was wearing.
Devin, I'm sorry.
....hi guys. Now before you start getting mad hear me out. It is SO hard to leave someone that you truly love, although they may have abused you it's hard to let them go. I had friend who was so controlling with me and wouldn't let me do anything he didn't like. He didn't like that I wanted to shop at Hot Topic and told me to stay away from the shop, that is just an example. It was so hard for me to leave his side and every time we'd fight I'd go back to him because at the end of day I loved him. And through all of those years of friendship he did abuse me, physically. We even dated at a point and in one point in our relationship he tried to make me do sexual things I wasn't ready for/didn't want to do. I just really hope you at least enjoyed this chapter and if not learned a little bit about me and my past. On another note, chapter 12 will be the last chapter for this book. It was short I know but I plan on making a sequel that will be much longer. Chapter 12 will be the breaking point for your character as she is forced to choose between two men. Both that she loves, but one has abused her. Who will she choose? Find out in chapter 12💕
