YOUR POV
You woke up, a throbbing pain hitting you like a wall of bricks. You weren't sure where you were, it was dark but what you were laying on felt like a bed. You tried to sit up but your body hurt so much you were forced to lay back down. You felt like you were moving, then the memories of last night flooded your mind. "Oh my god" you whispered. You felt warm liquid spill down your cheeks, you were crying. You couldn't believe that Kyle had done that to you.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you laid there, your entire body throbbing. Every breath you took hurt. You squeezed your eyes tight, wanting to disappear so that the pain would end. You heard a voice, your eyes snapped open to see Ghost. The man who had saved your life, your heartbeat quickened.
"How are you feeling?" He asked in a soft tone, his hands resting in the edge of the bed. "Not so good" you said in a low tone, more tears fell from my eyes. You felt embarrassed that you were crying in front of someone that you looked up to. "Hey it's okay you're safe now" he assured you. "So can you tell me who that guy was?" He asked. You parted your lips to speak "m-my boyfriend" you choked out a sob.
More tears spilled out of your eyes as you laid there. You saw sympathy flash in his eyes, "I'm so sorry that this happened to you" he said. You didn't say anything to him. "Has he ever hit you before?" You could tell Ghost was trying to get a better understanding of what had happened to you. "No" you responded in a small voice. He sighed "well he beat you up pretty bad, but nothing's broken. I'll go get you some pain medicine" he said and walked away.
You were relieved to know that nothing was broken. A few moments later Ghost came back with a small cup of water and two pills. He handed them to you and ushered you to take them. You didn't think twice as you gulped down both the pills and water. After he made sure that you were okay he left. You fell asleep with thoughts of Ghost lingering in your mind.
--"Hey" a voice said, they nudged you lightly on the shoulder. The pain of yesterday was washed away by the medication Ghost gave you. You cracked your eyes open and let then adjust the the bright light before setting them upon the one who woke you, Ghost. He gave you a small smile, "how are you feeling?" He asked. "Much better" you replied, you sat up only to hit your head on wood. "Owww" you whined rubbing the spot, "sorry my bunk isn't tall enough for you to sit up in" he laughed. Your eyes widened, you were in Ghost's bunk. "Wait this is your bunk?" You asked still confused. He nodded, "yeah I didn't know where else to put you so I gave you my bunk, the couch in the front isn't that comfortable" he replied.
It felt weird to be treated with such kindness, ever since you had started dating Kyle you forgot what kindness felt like. "Thank you, for saving me" you said in a low voice, Ghost smiled at you. "Well I couldn't just stand there and let him beat you" he said in a sincere voice. "So, whats your name?" Ghost asked. "(y/n)" you replied, "(y/n)" Ghost repeated, "what a beautiful name for a beautiful girl" he said. You felt butterflies erupt in your stomach, you weren't sure of what to say next so you just sat there looking down at the blue blanket.
"So anyways, we have a day off today and the guys and I were just planning on exploring the town. You're welcome to come with us if you're interested" he said. You couldn't help but smile widely, without a thought you told him yes. His eyes lit up, "great well I'll come and get you when we arrive" he said then left. You hadn't noticed that your phone had been sitting next to you until it lit up. Grabbing it you saw that there were tons of messages and calls from Kyle. Rolling your eyes you unlocked your phone and scrolled though them.
Most of them said that he was sorry, a few were angry ones saying if you didn't come back he would find you. As you read them you saw that he sent you another one. Please come back babe I miss you, I promise I won't hit you again please baby just come back to me. You knew that he was lying and texted him back. No fuck you Kyle, we're done. You beat me in the middle of the parking lot for not walking fast enough. I've up with your shit for too long and I'm DONE with it. All you do is yell at me, you need to learn control your anger. Goodbye.
You sent it and felt as if a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. You heard your phone vibrate but you had no interest in looking at the phone. You didn't want to hear his cries to take him back. You were finally free.
