Trouble Bonding
Wendell was born under blackout conditions. When she was first lifted and held, her mother who thought she was male, called her Wendell.
Then later when her mother was once alone, who was very angry, growled dangerously in her ear as she wanted a boy not a girl. She had promised her mate a son and said then that is what he will get.
Hours later her mother slipped into the hospital nursery room where the babies were kept, in the maternity ward. There she exchanged her daughter for a boy, laid her down in place of the boy she took and simply left.
The terrifying first growl from her mother woke her wolf and her wolf took notice of and remembered everything.
Jerry proceeded to bite the boy numerous times to inject her blood in him, trying to change his DNA. She was out of her freaking mind, being separated from her true mate who was off training another pack when she was in need of him being by her side.
The baby boy that Jerry had taken was an orphan, one slated for the orphanage. She/Wendell was sent in his place even realizing the wrong they were doing. When the lights came back on and the babies were examined, the nurses called her Cherry because her lips were cherry red.
The papers were amended saying the baby was a girl, and she was taken by a nurse, transporting her away. At the orphanage, as soon as she was placed in the director's arms, she knew the baby wasn't human. She being a she-wolf herself sensed the baby was a she-wolf too.
The nurse from the hospital said before leaving we dubbed her Cherry as her lips were red when she got hungry, smooshing them together looking for food.
As soon as she made it to her office, the director called the local pack office informing them that a newborn she-wolf was abandoned and needs a home.
The pack Doctor arrived and once he got his hands on her, he too could tell she was a she-wolf. But they had no home for her to go to in his pack, so he took her off the director's hands, promising he would find her a home and travelled some distance to another pack.
Cherry was shuffled off from one set of hands to another, then to another, on and on. No one seemed to want a baby girl, everyone was all about raising males.
By the time she was four, she had been passed into so many other hands, and the last couple who took her were not suitable parents at all. They were more rogue and they were not in a pack, just travelling.
The authorities were called in regards to a domestic violence case reported. When the police entered the home, they found the child knocked out cold with a head wound and the assumed mother nearly beaten to death.
They charged the male, put the mother into the hospital and sent the child into foster care after her seeing a doctor. When the mother regained consciousness, they asked her about the child.
When they learned she admitted she had no idea, then stated she took her from a park, they charged her too with child abduction, both husband and wife were found guilty.
They called her Cherry Anne Smith, giving her a full name with an approximate date of birth as the kidnappers had no idea when she was born, just her first name.

When Cherry was 17, she was walking to the park when a car pulled over. She immediately cringed at the scents coming at her from the couple inside it.
She walked into the park without talking to them as they yelled they only wanted directions. When she wouldn't reply, the female got out of the car to teach her a lesson as she was pissed.
