That night we slept in my parents' bed. Mine was too small for the both of us, and that was the only bed that would fit us both. My head rested on his chest like a pillow and his arms were wrapped tight around me. I don't normally have nightmares when he sleeps with me, but tonight I did.
I dreamt I was back at the compound, back in the position of David aiming a gun at me. I lunged for the keypad, and he shot me in the chest.
You will never succeed, Beatrice. David said. I won, and now you are dead.
He was right. My eyes fluttered as my hand went up to touch the wound. My hand was wet with blood when I pulled it back, or what looked like blood; my vision was darkening. And then everything was black.
White then blinded me, and my mother appeared.
I miss you, Beatrice. She smiled at me. I'm so sad you didn't pick me, but that's okay. Because now you are dead and we will stay together.
No, I said. I'm not dead. It's just a dream. I'm alive.
You are dead. And now we are together. Isn't that what you want? My mother wasn't acting like my mother. She was now acting, creepy.
But, Tobias! I got up and began to run. I wasn't going anywhere, just running. Tobias! I let out a scream in frustration. Tobias!
Here. A voice said. Tobias came from no where, and had a wound in his chest. Now I'm dead too, and we can be together.
I screamed again, and sobbed his name. I felt hot tears leak from my eyes.
Tris! His voice said, but his lips didn't move. Tris!
I bolted upright, nearly smacking into Tobias' forehead. My face was wet with tears, and sweat coated my skin.
I let out a sob, and crawled into Tobias' lap. He cradled me, soothing the memory of the dream. It was only a dream, I thought. His lips pressed into my forehead and held there, one hand around my back and the other on my thigh.
After a while, he spoke: "Do you want to talk about it?"
I hesitated, before saying, "No."
"Okay." He said gently, before pulling me even closer. I looked up and kissed him, slowly. Our kiss deepened, but I quickly pulled away. I did not want to do anything like that in this state.
He didn't object to me pulling away, just smiled at me softly. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"I love you three."
"I love you four." I let out a small snort, laughing at his completely obvious, intended joke.
There was a loud knock at the door downstairs, and I jumped up off the bed and out of his lap. "What time is it?"
"About noon." He said, glancing at his watch.
I dashed down the stairs, Tobias following.
I swung the door open, but then realized I was in my pyjamas still. I immediately blushed, but it turned out only to be Christina.
"Hey girl!" She looked me up and down, and her gazed shifted to Tobias and did the same."It's noon. How are you guys not up?!"
"Uh. I was really tired. We both were." I smiled at her."Come in." I stepped to the right, allowing a path by and into the house.
She stepped by and turned back at me to wink."Right. Tired."
I rolled my eyes at her and shut the door. Christina and I go in and sit in the living room while Tobias goes to make brunch. "So," I say, "Not that I don't love you, but what's up?"
She leans forward and grins at me. "What exactly did I interrupt, Tris? Because I can go." She gives me a wink.
"Absolutely nothing, Chris." I shoot her a playful glare.
"I see. Well, I thought I'd drop by and see if you would want to have a girl's night out? I know I should've called, but.."
"It's fine. I could go for a night out, why not?"
"Great!"
"So, when will we leave?"
"As soon as possible. Get dressed, eat, whatever. I'll watch T.V." She picked up the remote off of the coffee table. The T.V. was new, Tobias and I decided we should get one, since the abnegation houses don't have them.
I ran upstairs and grabbed some clothes, then hopped in the shower. I blow-dried my hair, threw on a little makeup, then dashed back downstairs. In the kitchen, Tobias had made us eggs and toast. We sat down for breakfast at the table at ate.
"I'm going to go out with Chris tonight. Is that okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah, of course." He smiled at me.
"Great. Hey, I could probably get Uriah or someone to come keep you company tonight..."
"No, it's fine. I'll just read or something."
"Okay." I stood up with my plate and glass in my hands and kissed him on the cheek, thanking him for brunch.
Christina was perched on the couch beside the armrest, watching some old film. She looked up and saw me and jumped off, powering down the T.V. "Ready?"
"Yup." I sighed and smiled, and we walked to the door. It was a little bit of a long walk to the train tracks. The train still ran as transportation, because it was better than cars. But now, not only dauntless but everyone uses it.
The train lights shone in the distance."Ready?" Christina asked.
"Yeah. Let's do it." And we launched ourselves into the train.

Allegiant alternate ending
Fiksi PenggemarI know we are all terribly upset with how sad the allegiant ending was (I bawled for hours), soooo here's what I think should've happened. **all characters and settings and everything belong to Veronica Roth, I am simply just another (upset)...
