a vampire comes at you and Caius loses his shit, killing the vamp right in front of you scaring you into a panic attack
Friday's were the worst in Volterra, it was trial day. Trial days happened when a vampire had been especially disobedient to the Volturi law. The law was not hard to follow: do not make yourself known to mortals. All any vampire had to do was keep their identity secret. Of course I, along with a girl in the United States, were the exceptions. In my case, I had been trusted with the knowledge of the immortals because I was chosen to work for them. I was the secretary who organized their feasts. I worked along side of Heidi, a gorgeous vampire who lured mortals to their eminent death.
Even though there was no gore or blood involved I still was extraordinarily upset on the thought of anyone or anything dying. I was in the throne room with Caius, Marcus, and Aro when Felix and Demetri brought in a vampire who looked to be in his late twenties. His hair was careless and his clothing was sloppy, he was thrown on the floor in front of Aro. The vampire stood up persistently, a nefarious smile escaped his lips as his eyes locked on to mine.
Caius noticed this immediately and pulled me on to his lap. I was small and his throne was huge, I normally would sit on his lap during trials because he knew it made me uncomfortable.
"Seems like I shouldn't be the one on trial here, Aro." The vampire said in a cocky tone of voice. He walked over to Caius and I. "I don't think we have met, sugar. My name is Alden, you are?"
"You do not address her." Caius snapped viciously at him. Alden shrugged his shoulders he raised his hand underneath my chin and gave me a cheeky wink, that's when Caius lost it.
In one swift motion Caius got up, placed me down on the throne, and held Alden's head in a lock. Demetri and Felix came to each side of Alden holding his arms.
"You have disobeyed us for the last time." Caius whispered before snapping off the head of the vampire. Felix and Demetri ripped both arms off of Alden. The sound was like marble cracking, Alden's eyes rolled to the back of his head as Caius threw it to the ground. I heard Aro sigh.
"What a pity." He chuckled. Felix and Demetri took the body away to dispose of in a different room. I was in shock, I had never seen someone rip like that, I didn't know it was possible, I didn't want to know if it was possible. All of a sudden I could not catch my breath as I felt the cold breeze sweep through the room. Caius was next to me, his eyes grew larger in size.
"Oh darling, I'm sorry. Come here please." Caius moved me on to his lap again. Marcus and Aro left the room leaving it to ourselves.
"You know I don't want to see that." I had permanent fear on my face. Caius apologetically nodded his head and began laying kisses on my face.
"My dear I won't do it ever again." Caius said sweetly. "But he shouldn't have come near you." His tone turned grave and stern. I signed and held on to Caius as long as I could.
