You were having a bad day. You knew the new secretary didn't like you and neither did Heidi, but you didn't think they would say rude things about you behind your bad. The secretary didn't like you because you were with Alec and Heidi didn't like you because you're human.
"She acts all innocent." Heidi complained, flipping her hair and looking at her nails.
"Right? She thinks she has everyone fooled when she walks out of the library with a book pressed to her chest and her head down." The secretary added with a nod.
"I don't know why Alec won't turn her. I thought he would get tired of seeing her ugly face by now." Heidi spoke.
The secretary smirked, "Maybe because she won't be around much longer."
You didn't stay to hear the rest of the conversation. You walked to your room as quick as you possibly could. You got under the covers and tried to read. It was no use because their words haunted your mind and tears stung your eyes, threatening to fall. You weren't one to get emotional over things like that, but it was hard being in a new place and not feeling like you belong.
Unbeknownst to you, Alec had heard the conversation and his hands balled into a fist and his jaw clenched in anger. 'How dare they talk about her like that.' He thought.
"Maybe it is you who would be gone soon." He glared at the secretary before turning to Heidi.
"How dare you speak about my mate, the woman I love, in such a foul way. You may think that you are the most beautiful creature to walk this Earth, but you are nothing compared not (Y/N). She's not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. I don't believe anyone can say the same for either of you." He said before he left to check on you.
You heard someone knock on your door and quickly whipped your tears away and grabbed your book, pretending to read before saying, "Come in."
Alec was the one at the door, so you were confused as to why he knocked considering it was his room too. He stood by the closed door, not moving towards you like he normally would.
"Alec, stop being weird and get over here." You told him, your voice raw from crying.
The pale boy moved toward you as you patted the spot next to you. He laid on the bed next to you, wrapping his arms around your waist gently, careful not to hurt you.
"Heidi and what's-her-name are wrong you know. You're the most beautiful person I've ever met and I'm not just talking physical beauty. Every single aspect of you is beautiful." Alec told you as he rested his forehead against your temple.
